so I installed ms2 on my old pc, i just resently got a new one, so when i go and try to install ms2 on the new one i discover that my cd is missing, although i do have cd 2, I say fine but then i descover that i also lost my manual with it my cd key, so is there no way for me to install mass effect 2 on my new comp other than buying a new copy?

Your only hope is to contact EA support, but I wouldnt hold my breath. If you had registered your copy on the forums they would have been able to access your account details, retrieved your CD key from there, and then you could have used it with the Origins download service to get yourself a digital copy.
If you still have your old cimputer handy, you can get the cd key from the config utility, under the "Game" section.
If not, then you are out of luck.

Without the key, not registered here, then no, not unless you wish to turn into a hacker and crack it, which opens you up to a whole bunch of other issues. The safest and best way is to just go buy another copy and try to keep your disk in a safe location. Even if you had the disk, without the key, you would still be out of luck.
If the game was registered here, you might have been able to talk an EA rep of retrieving it for you, if you could prove you were you.
