I have been playing through SoZ quite happily with my created party + 1 (Umoja). 

I have completed Zecorian's Demense & returned to the Sword Coast - and then back to the Keep.

I have recieved the updated quests from Akila, but now when I click on 1 particular character - it freezes the game.

If I play without selecting the character  ( 17th Level Drow Wizard) there are no issues, except trying to get through the portal - and I can't select any of her spells.

I have tried dropping her, but can't seem to remove any of the self-created companions at all.

If I make the error of selecting her, I can only escape teh game by using teh ALT/CTRL/DEL function.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - after all this time to get to this point, I don't really want to have to do a clean install and start from scratch again.

Sounds like a Kaedrin's problem to me. If you were using Kaedrin's and then removed it then characters you created with it can cause crashes. Either put Kaedrin's back into your override or remove whatever other content you out in the override that is interfering with Kaedrin's.

You should be able to remove any player created character except the first PC using the party menu which is accessible in the inns.

You can also use my Party Editor for SoZ available in the Vault (link below) to allow access to the party menu anytime.

 Thanks for the details.  I'm not sure what a Kaedrin's problem is or what Kaedrin is.I don't have anything in the override folder either.
I have uninstalled and completed a fresh install of the game, and imported my saves, which went well, until I got to the same point in the game where I couldn't click on the same character without the game freezing (Failing to Respond through Task Manager)
Looks Like I will have to delete all saves, and start from scratch again, unless any other suggestions

What happens when you try to remove the character using the party editor?

 Well, I don't know what happened, but I downloaded the Party Editor, and installed as per the instructions.

Stripped the character of all her equipment etc, and then exported her. 

Moved through a couple of areas with her in her un-robed state, then gave back her gear.

It all went swimmingly right through to the final showdown.  The she just stood there - no spells - no equipment (other than he staff & robes).  

Although only really needed some of her potions - so re-loaded a previous page, swapped out items & off we went.
