A new RPG ip from Capcom due in 2012 (hope it arrives before the end of the world lol)

Looks like it could be one to play after Skrim and before DA:3 ;)

No the one to play after Skyrim and before DA3 is Reckoning......if you're on PC that is.

Reckoning is on the Console too.

And yeah I'll be keeping my eye on Dragon's Dogma, but right now it comes across as a Skyrim copy.

I'll be completely Dragoned out by then I think. They need to come up with some new material. Maybe Pandas or something. Nevermind, I think WoW beat them to that one.

Why? It's more like Monster Hunter (made by Capcom too) than Skyrim. Skyrim didn't invent dragons. Skyrim is copying the Chinese (or whoever the Hell first came up with the dragon's design) if you want to think like that.

And I posted a thread about Dragon's Dogma a while back...we had a small debate in it about Skyrim Vs Dragon's Dogma but it falls down to both being different games and it was wildly agreed that Dragon's Dogma's combat looks better than Skyrim combat...

Dragon's Dogma = Companions, open world, tactics, boss fights
Skyrim = Open world

They only share the open world feature. Dragon's Dogma has plenty of features to make it unique and is probably the first game (that I know of) that has attempted to give you companions in an open world enviroment. Sometimes it looks like Dragon Age meets open world and at other times, it looks like an action game when you're jumping up upon a flying griffin and fighting it while it flies. The enviroments also look LOTR like at times. I do remember Capcom saying that Dragon Age and LOTR were their inspiration for the series but the directer was dreaming of making such a game supposedly when he was in school.

Besides, just because the title of the game is "Dragon's" Dogma doesn't mean that you'll be fighting millions of dragons every second. Dragon Age is my example of this...

F*** yea Monster Hunter.
Frankly I find this much better than any Dragon I've seen in Skyrim.

F*cking Hell. I remember that battle and it was hard for me...at least for the second time because I never game him a tainted egg. He's probably one of the hardest boss fight in the game but thankfully for those that wanted to avoid it, it was optional. I chose to defeat that dragon all the time. Something about taking down one of the oldest dragons in the world...was quite appealing.

Yeah, he's not flying about or ****** in his private times like Skyrim dragons but it's far more powerful than any of them will be and I can say that for fact.

Bethesda (as usual) apply eye candy and visuals in hopes it will immerse people into their game. Not all get immersed by seeing dragons ****** and NPC's ******. I think Dark Souls dragons will mop Skyrim's dragons up. Not only do they look far more impressive but they also look far more powerful.

New screens showing character customization have been released:

It looks like we can create a child or a character with extra weight if we wanted too:

It looks interesting but IIRC it's not available for PC. Not something that would make me want to spend money to buy a console.

Yeah it would be like going back in time again and burning ants with a magnifying glass....... but with dragons instead.

Dragon's Dogma TGS 2011 Trailer. Well this is a game I'll be watching. Considering its Capcom either its really great or really bad. Wish it would come to PC.

This game looks incredibly cheesy, like a bad 80s fantasy movie. Still, it looks fun.

You beat me to it.

However, for those who don't have a YouTube account to view this "over 18 material" you can watch it here:

Click

Over 18? Really? LOL

Joking aside. The game looks fantastic as do the monsters, combat and enviroments. The dragons look amazing, the giants look amazing and the graphics look amazing. I like how you can create a dwarf character too. It was funny seeing the guy jumping onto a giant from a high platform.

And LOL Virumor, now that you mention it. That DOES look like Sandal. I never knew Sandal had an older, BIGGER and black brother? What's his name? Slipper? LOL

The English voice acting sounds mediocre at best.  It won't happen but I would love to have the Japanese track with subtitles.  Looks extremely fun though for an action RPG and very happy to see a robust character creator.

With this and Kingdoms of Amalur, it looks like 2012 will be pretty fun. I doubt we're going to get anything deep from either of those games, but I know they will be something fun like Dragon Age: Origins. I like how loud everything sounds as the party tells you what to do. Sounds like you are Russell Crowe in that movie Gladiator.

Funny enough between this and Kingdoms of Amalur, this is a heavy RPG, flight sim, and Action game year for me, That is 2012 I mean the only shooter I seen for 2012 I want is technicall Dishonored is an action game so, HALO 4. But lots of RPGs and action games. Like Asura's Wrath thats another I'm keeping an eye on.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited. 2011 has been pretty much dead to me as New Vegas, GOG, and work/school are keeping me going through this gaming drought.

Well I liked this year namely the later half in terms of gaming. But last year was crap. Next year looks the same as this one, as in I'll have a few games.

Who knows. KOA has that guy who creates Tales of a Forgotten Realm novels writing the story and lore. Dragon's Dogma looks like there could be a heavy story behind it. We shall see.
