Owned KOA:R and it was a pure borefest. Ultimate yawn - not a bad game, but a yawnathon.
DD is brilliant, a bit sparse and weak in areas but overall a superb experience which just needed a bit more meat on the bone plot-wise to be a classic.
Still a 9/10 for me personally.

Dunno why you felt the need to necro this thread over a year later but anyway funnily enough having now actually played Reckoning I agree with you, it didn't grab me at all and I only spent a few hours playing it.

What DLC? Do you mean the crappy "collect 500 badges" quest-line or the LV 10 armor and weapons item DLC pack? The major DLC which is actually worth downloading is free (speed-run mode and hard-mode which add new items to the game when you complete them). The only proper DLC coming out is the expansion some time later this year. I doubt there will be anything after that but who knows.

It's all locked to the retail disc. Very shoddy. Aside from that, it's horrible DLC anyway. The medallion quests give you like 100 quests and they're all collecting medallions in the world. Worst. DLC. Ever. The other DLC isn't any better unless you just want a few cosmetic upgrades.
They are making an expansion for 2013 called Dark Arisen. Not many details on it though but it's suppose to be a big expansion. We'll see.

Yeah the DLC looks terrible but apparently that hasn't stopped some people from buying the item DLC packs with low-level equipment that will become useless after 3 hours.
I was worried for DD at first as I thought Capcom were going to milk the hell out of the game releasing massive side campaigns as DLC that were already on the disc. They haven't...yet anyway and this expansion is too far apart from release to be something that was originally on the disc (but who knows, maybe it is already?). Sounds like it might be retail too considering it has its own site.
