I'm okay with that.

It'll be a bit strange to take on Leng in hand to hand if you brought Thane and Garrus with you. Those two are probably on Shepard's level of CQC by themselves -- hell, Thane's probably even better than Shepard/Leng.
Thane showed he's good at sneak attacks but in a straight one on one fight that's different. Garrus hasn't shown any CQC prowess beyond any other squad mate.
Thane's 42 years old, and has been training since he was six. Yeah, he's probably better at hand to hand than even Shepard.
Garrus is one of the top ranked CQC specialists in the turian military. I doubt he's better than Shepard, but he's probably not much worse.

The one who trains the longest does not equal the one who is the best. That's true for any fighting discipline. He's trained as assassin and not particularly to be the best fighter. Where'd you get the info on Garrus?

I think Garrus tells Shepard that when they discuss turian reach and flexibility. I have to check it though.
UPD: Checked it. "She and I were the top ranked hand to hand specialists on the ship" - , 2:13 mark.
Not the best in turian military =) Just the ship

In Garrus' "reach and flexibility" conversation, he says that he and the scout chick he was sparring with were the "top-ranked hand-to-hand specialists" on their ship.

And after reading Retribution, it would be deliciously ironic to watch Kai Leng be taken down by a turian, it really would.

Thane vs. Kai Leng would be the best assassin-on-assassin showdown. One is said to be the most skillful assassin in the galaxy who has been in grave-danger situations and killed some, to quote Captain Bailey, "really bad people", while the other is a pro-human assassin who will do anything to ensure he's the winner. Yeah, tell me it wouldn't be a good fight to watch...
Now this... this would be amazing.

Don't forget Garrus was considered for Spectre training as well, he's pretty good with his hands.. erm.. yeah.

I'd take Garrus but I'd have to take Jack too if she's available.

That's what I thought. There is a big difference between being one of the best on a ship and the entire Turian military.

You guys seen this? It's from a thread I created a while back, and it shows artwork from the Gameinformer reveal which was surprisingly missed out in discussions:

Thing is, popular opinion back in the topic was that the guy on the pic is Kai Leng, and being the assassin he is, he decides to crash right into the captain's quarters while the ship is in outer space.
If the ship is in outer space at the time, why isn't everything (including the glass and the assassin himself) getting sucked out into space?

The less attention I have to give to this character, the better.
I don't want to jump the gun on him, but he sounds like a total Villain-Sue. He's an N7 marine who's suddenly relevant and who killed a krogan with a knife (seriously?) but also happens to be working for Cerberus and apparently can chew through rope and escape a healthy man even when he has two severe leg injuries. How many more excuses do they have to make this guy relevant?
Maybe he wears a bullet-deflecting device like Fortune from MGS2 that he invented by crapping on a pinwheel. Maybe he can stop time by holding his breath like Guldo from DBZ. Or maybe he can jump from heights of over 2 miles without injury due to some ability we discover that he has where his legs automatically brace for impacts?
There's so many potentially great ideas for boss characters and minor antagonists along the way and we'll have to deal with this guy for probably a major portion of the time? Lame.

Talk about a holywood event, the glass, and everything else should move outwards, not into the ship...

That's exactly what's happening. Datapad, cushions, etc. The momentum of the assassin brought some glass in, but even that is now going up.

Ha! If you call that a "Hand to hand" mano-a-mano fight, then by all means Joker could take down Grayson aswell, just need Anderson, a few biotics and allot of ammo.eye basher wrote...
Well considering Kei leng took down a reaper powered Grayson i'd be careful with him.
Thane Vs Kai Leng wouldn't even be a fight, it would be a massacre of epic proportions
Garrus could stand his ground, hell Wrex could turn him into space juice. Even Jack could lore-wise destroy KL. Sheperd went hand to hand with a Yagh, nuff said.
