I don't get it. Isn't TIM supposed to be pretty combat proficient as well?

No, in the book Mass Effect: Retribution it says that while he has had some training, he hasn't practiced in a long time. He's nowhere near the level of a Shepard, Kai Leng, etc...

All he did was taking potshots at wounded people while wearing his laughable armor.

Shepard would kick TIM's ass with his eyes blindfolded and one leg tied to his arm.

Kia Lang kill a krogan in a bar fight. Really not that impressive.

Mordin killed a krogan with a FARMING EQUIPMENTS. Your argument is invalid.

Zaeed beat the living crap out of one and then took their guns and blasted the rest while they were comprehending what happened.

Wrex fu*cking killed a Treasher frikkn Maw on foot.

Samara played cat and mouse with Nihlus the most decorated Turian specter in the galaxy. Where she was the cat.

Thane, best assassine in the galaxy, period. Has a tactic for everyone.

Liara fought hords of mercs with nothing but her biotics. Equaled an Asari specter.

Jack fought hords of mercs, pirates, military. Survived on the purgatory!

Zaeed vs Lang would be interesting.

Lang really isn't that special. I can't understand the hype.

Kai Leng is known as Ceberus's top wetworks agent, meaning he's one of the deadliest humans in the galaxy. He killed a Turian squad with no armor and shielding with just a knife. Though we didn't get to see much of him, the guy crawled hundreds of meters and up ladders with bullet wounds in both of his legs to escape. That's intense.

Anderson>KL

Nobody is denying that KL is top of the line, he was like that even in the Alliance. No doubt the illusive man has convinced him to undergo cybernetic enhancements and maybe get Reaper implants to up his game.
But the KL from from retribution is NOT stronger than Thane, or even Sheperd.

Anderson is the most decorated soldier in the Alliance. And Anderson didn't really beat Kai Leng anyways, not in a straight fight.

If Kai Leng does have enhancements, in CQC combat he would be a match for Thane and Shepard. Shepard's enhancements allow him to fight against a freaking Yahg...

He had a pistol too. Shot one of the Turians behind the knee. Plus he caught the Turians off guard, came from behind while they where already in a firefight.  I just read that part last night. I'm new to the novels, just recently got a tablet.

Ah, I forgot about the pistol, my mistake. Either way, it's just as impressive as anything Thane has ever been shown to have done, or Shepard (in terms of CQC).

It's not about enhancements. Shepard has the same physical limitations as other people, but it's pretty clear the Yahg underestimated his strength and got caught with two sucker punches.

What? Shepard pwnd the Shadow Broker. How was it a sucker punch if he had to drop his shields first? Shep made the Yahg into his personal punching bag.

Also read the descriptions for Skeletal Lattice, Microfiber Weave, and Lattice Shunting. Shepard's a damn cyborg and a lot more durable than say a Krogan (without it's tertiary organs) after ME2.

Not so much, while there is a certain limit to physical abilities, this limit lies inhumanly far when considering augmentations. Mechanical/cybernetic and nano enhancements could theoretically make sheperd a hundred times more capable than any soldier. All you need is more advanced tech, the only limitation is technology.

Imagine combing an AI system like EDI to a Cyborg. It's combat aptitude would be above anything organicly possible, it could calculate and compare any combat situation there is in a splitsecond, then react and annihilate the opponent.

And if you don't get those?

The Shadow Broker got caught off-guard and was too humiliated to even know how to respond. As soon as he got some distance, he showed that he was way stronger than Shepard and tossed him easily. The only things that Shepard has, canonically, would be the little cybernetic pieces they put into him to act like spark plugs to start his systems back up, and potentially, the biotic implants if you're a biotic, but otherwise? No, AFAIK.

Yep. Shep was brought back to be like he was before with minor cybernetics.

Aww come on now. You're going to use gameplay/story segregation on me? Let's assume he (for the sake of pronouns) does have those cybernetic upgrades. It would mean that Shepard. physically, is remarkably superior to the average man of same age and build. So with that I'd think he could easily keep up if not hold his own in a hand-to-hand with Thane, Keng, Saren, Wrex, SB ect. This is before taking N7 spec ops training into account.

Well now you're just speaking purely in hypotheticals.

What if Tali and other quarians didn't have immunodeficiencies?

What if Garrus had a clone?

What if Wrex had a flamethrower?

So you're telling that you RP a "purist", non-transhumanist Shepard, and so you don't get cybernetic upgrades and go through the whole game gimped? If you did I take my hat off to you good sir because you're indeed a glutton for punishment. Otherwise... well you figure it out I'm not trying to start a flamewar.

And who said that this space ninja won't get any upgrades to fight Shep and his deadly dozen?

Even if so, each of squad members is more awesum than some generic ninja. And I bet those Turians were 5 year olds.

If Shepard gets some distance, he/she should be able to just gun Kai down like nothing. He may be fast, but I really doubt that he can outrun bullets.

Understood, I'm not trying to start one either. It's just that I don't care if he's a cyborg or not (well, technically he is, but then, so is everyone) but they hint pretty strongly that he doesn't have that many things that were changed about him from his "death" when his body stopped functioning. Shepard is pretty clearly weaker than krogan (Grunt bullrushes him and he's forced to resort to a pistol to get Grunt to back off, and he has to use the tank-bred one that's defending Okeer to get past the metal barrier so he can reach the warlord). And he doesn't demonstrate any crazy, special senses or abilities that other humans can't technically do. The likelihood that he's got a bunch of extra implants that make him much more powerful is pretty low.

The gameplay/story segregation is justified. The gameplay says that it takes Krogan strength to fire the Claymore shotgun but it's used by the asari Captain Anyala. The gun looks rediculous in her hands. For the sake of her being a boss in gameplay, they gave it to her. The same goes for Shep firing the widow.

Grunt smashes him into the ship, sheperd doesn't even flinch. Obviously he was moved by grunt due to the difference in mass and velocity.

IF that were true, do you think Shep just felt like sitting there when Grunt could snap his neck, instead of pushing him off after he got tackled?

Again, Pushin him would require either more physical strenght, or greater muscle activation (velocity), just because you can benchpress 500 pounds doesn't mean you can hold your own in a fist fight.

All bodies have weaknesses, knowing this weakness and exploiting it is what makes you win. Sheperd could have shoved his fingers into Grunts eyes, and then go for the neck, the quad and than snap the neck.

Im having trouble understanding how a hand-to hand combat boss fight with him would even be feasible. Just mash your melee button as fast as you can?

Yay, more quick time events.

I bet it's just a long gunfight with Kai deploying really annoying tactics like smoke grenades and hit and runs.
