Ive been replaying Mass Effect 2 ( again ) and something came to me while I was doing Zaeed's loyalty quest. If you chose to Kill Vido Santiago at the expense of the workers at the refinery. Do u think we will be able to rally the Blue Suns to the cause in Mass effect 3? If Vido Santiago is dead surely Zaeed will be able to reassert his authority over the Blue Suns. From what I remeber Vido placed some Batarian as a figure head of the Blue Suns so he could rule in the background and not be such a visable target, a pupeteer if you will.

What do you all think?

Would be cool. I'm just hoping Zaeed plays some kind of role in ME3.

It would be cool if he did, but I doubt it. For one thing, the buildup would have had to be there in ME2. Zaeed wanted revenge, but on Vido for betraying him. He never made any declaration of wanting the position back.

The Mercenary groups were both overdone in ME2 (overshadowing the true enemies), but also not played enough. If they were going to be as significant as they were at all, they should have a real role in the Reaper war. Make THEM the true powers that fight and defend the Terminus. Intergalactic corporations they prey on and service the Terminus, each one having the military strength of several associate species.

Zaeed was not a nice person. He only joined Shep's team because Cerberus paid him well, and he was relectant to follow him in the begining. So who's to say he won't be looking out for himself again? Because he doesn't need to follow Shepard now, or help him out. I hope some of the old crew in ME2 don't all want to fall on the sword for Shepard.

Maybe. I'm hoping after all the drama we went through with blue, yellow and red in ME2 that they'll play some part in the story. Even if it's just small.

I *really* want a chance to kill Vido in ME3 if you take the paragon path on Zaeed's loyalty mission. Maybe part of Zaeed's role in ME3 if you took that path will be trying to hunt down Vido. I also want to kill the Eclipse and Blood Pack leaders, but perhaps that is asking for a bit much. (Although I'd be perfectly satisfied if this was accomplished in a small sidequest. Anything as long as they are dead :) )

I've only killed Vido once, every other playthrough of ME2 I've saved the workers instead. So I would like a chance to track down Vido Santiago too in ME3.
But I still believe that the Blue Suns and other Merc bands could be valuable alllies in ME3, besides when the Reapers arrive we really shouldn't be so picky where our allies come from. We should put aside our differences to deal with the threat to everyone of every race.
And as the old saying goes " the enemy of my enemy as my friend ", at least until the Reaper threat has passed anyway.

Someone is inevitably going to bring up the fact that Vido wiped the records of Zaeed evey being apart of the Blue Suns. However speculation is going to abound from every little detail. Did Tarak (the blue suns leader on Garrus' recruitment) know him because of his merc work or because he remembers him from the old days in the Suns? Is there a splinter group of the Suns that remained loyal to Zaeed and waited until Vido was dead to reign in Zaeed's return? Was this a ploy to promote the novels? The Blue Suns were the ones who attacked the Alliance base on Sidon in Revelation. They were also the group in Redemption that was hired by the Shadow Broker to find Shep's body. Lastly its just like Kasumi's greybox. The situation in particular is enough to be relevant in the third game but whether or not it will be is the question.

Edit: I'm a grammar freak who hates myself when I don't capitilize proper nouns :?

The thing I noticed is that every character has a potential ME3 tie-in element. For Kasumi, its the graybox. For Miranda, its her sister. For Thane, it's his health. And so on and so fourth.

For Zaeed, its Jessie. I'm betting that if you killed Vido, Zaeed will become the Blue Suns leader and help you immensely. If you allowed Vido to escape, Zaeed will die, but he'll give you Jessie -- the best rifle in the game (with little recoil, set crosshairs, the ammo size of a revenant, etc). Assuming that he finally got that sh!tty old rifle fixed.

I feel like in ME3 he will have a small mission where he either tracks vido down or takes over the blue suns.

I doubt it. It seemed more of a personal favor to Zaeed anyway. That and I'm pretty sure Zaeed is just supposed to have a cameo of some sort in ME3. It's too soon to tell though.

 I hope so,

I have just started a Renegade run after many many Paragon runs, and I took great pleasure in helping Zaeed to finally kill Vido, after watching him fly away countless times.

I think Zaeed is a fantastic squadie, but on a Paragon run through his mission I would love an option to just put a bullet in his head and leave him there, but then that would not be a very Paragon thing to do, lol

I think what I am trying to say is that in my head, my Paragon Shepard would just leave him there to die, or whatever.

He is fun squadie though, just take him to Afterlife, talk to him at the bar, and listen to the classic -

Zaeed doesn't need the Blue Suns. Even if you deliberately screwed Shepard's chances of defeating the Reapers in the last two games, the alternate ending will be the Reapers retreating into darkspace leaving behind a Milky Way devoid of all life... except for Zaeed.

He'll be cursing "Gawwddamn this and that" about being the only survivor while gripping Jessie and smoking a cig.
