Normally when I start ME2, Miranda will make a statement corresponding to the fate of the council from ME1 ("saving the Citadel and letting the council die..." or "saving the Citadel, even saving the council!") but now the Illusive Man simply says "Commander Shepard uncovered the truth about the Reapers" and the council is not discussed.  As far as I can tell, all decisions have carried over properly, but the quote stays the same.

Anyone else encounter this?  If so, can you shed some light on why it happened?

Do you have Genesis installed? If so, it's because Genesis doesn't start up until after the Normandy's destruction, so you don't get the chance to make those decisions before the comic starts. There's a few other changes too, like Liara showing up on the Normandy instead of the VS. It's just to make it more generic for non-imported characters.

I would agree except that I'm using an imported character. Perhaps this is just what happens whenever Genesis is installed? Still, the game correctly put Ashley on the Normandy with me and the comic knew all the decisions I'd made from the previous game.

Was it an ME1 import or an ME2 import? I think this only happens if you have genesis installed and you use an ME2 import. It carries your decisions across regardless but it's still a frivolous waste of time sitting through the comic if you're using an imported character.

I've actually not been able to get any change to that particular line of dialogue regardless of whether I use no import, ME2, or ME1 import, but all other carryovers are properly reflected.

It's happened to me with an ME1 import and new game + in ME2.  It's because of Genesis being installed.
