Ok, just got this game for the PC (played it on PS3 and X360) and i'm having a hard time with a crash that is making the game unplayable...
On the first set of enemies (2x Loki on a balcony), in the first proper mission (the one where you first use Miranda... Freedoms Progress I think) my game crashed while killing one of them. Each time I tried to reload, the game would crash when I killed any enemy, even restarting the level didn't help. In the end I tried starting a new game but the first Loki you must kill in the tutorial on board the Lazarus Station made my game crash.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
My game crashes when I kill ANY enemy...

Specs of your machine per sticky thread about posting.....
How did you purchase the game?? Origin, Steam, physical disk??
Usually a crash at a specific point is a file corruption, if steam verify integrity, if other, reinstall. If that doesn't work, post your specs and we will have a look to make sure your rig will run the game.

If you have any driver newer than 256-something (oops, 258), it's probably nVIDIA's drivers messing you up. I got so tired of Geforce problems with drivers, I haven't used the PC that still has one of their cards in it for several months. I have a fixed income, and along with a serious drought, we've had some very hot weather. My electric bills for all the A/C cost have been sky high, so no replacement Radeon can go in it yet.

Video Drivers revision? (Mid 2010 drivers like the 258 series, as Gorath mentions, are the last known stable drivers that will definately work with ME2, anythnig newer is pot luck)
Audio device and driver? (Realtek HD audio driver as supplied with Win7 is buggy as hell, update it from Realteks website)
Game Patch level?
Did you install DirectX9.0c from the disk? (DX10 isnt backwards compatible with ME2)

I tried updating my nvidia driver but I already have the latest driver (280.26). I manually patched the game from the website at the same time I got my cerberus pack DLC. DX9 was installed along with other games. I will try updating the Realtek drivers.

Dont bother with the realtek driver, as you arent running te Realtek audio device, I only mentioned it on the off chance that you were.
Uninstall your current video drivers, and give these a try. Older, but known to be more reliable with ME2.

Nvidia have this horrible habit of thinking nobody plays games that are over a year old, hence their newer drivers tend to introduce more problems into older games than they actually fix.

In doing that, will that make my newer games unstable/unplayable? I recently purchased The Witcher 2 and Deus Ex. I tend to swap between games when I feel like it.

The only game I know of that can have problems with older drivers is DA2. DOnt have DE:HR yet so I havent had a chance to test it out on my old dogbox of a machine, but WItcher2 should be able to run with those drivers. If you experience [problems with newer games, it might be a case of havnig to fnid a mid-point driver between old and new which works as a compromise.

Ok, I'm in the middle of re-installing ME2 now, so if this doesn't fix my problem, i'll downgrade my graphics driver.

After re-installing ME2, it seems to be running fine now. Thanks anyway for the help.
