Mind you, I don't play it like a shooter. I lean on the pause button through most of the fight. Aim, shoot, pause, aim, shoot, pause. I'm sure a really fps player would have a fit but it gets the job done

These games really aren't that hard once you familiarize yourself with them. I play on veteran and I could probably play it at a higher difficulty if I wanted to but I find veteran is the best mix of challenge and fun for me.
To be honest, I found Dragon Age Origins incredibly hard at times, on Normal. Perhaps it's just my lousy tactical skills, but I was sing console commands a LOT at the end of the base game and on the Harvester (Golems). I COULD lower it, but most of the time it's not a problem, just with gigantic enemies.

Well of the two franchises I find that I am more proficient at Mass Effect than I am at Dragon Age though my last stint playing the Dragon Age games I realize I have become much better at DAO than I use to be. Might bump up the difficulty my next run in DAO. Currently play DAO on normal.

KotorEffect3, I understand what you are saying. I am hoping that the easy level will still be "easy" so to speak. I thought about just spam playing ME2 until ME3 comes out so that i can do just that. I think part of it is my fear of the bad guys, its laughable but i shake and my hear races.I guess my point is just for them not to make the easy level too much harder (thats what they have been saying, it will be like the next level up). but maybe the new squad abilities will help. because i play like that now, send them in ahead of me
thanks for the feedback ya'll. it helped me think about it a bit differently.
Cool and then have fun with it. Don't be afraid to try and new things and don't worry about dying.

I always start on casual and then after playing it for 6 or 7 months move to normal and then after a year or so move to veteran. I am just now playing my first ME2 on veteran. As long as they have different options I'm ok.
That being said, I did have a hard time with a couple of the main fights in DA:2 on casual. That should not happen. Casual should be pretty easy, maybe die once or twice but not 5 or 6 times which happend with one of my characters. It's irritating when that happens.

You are talking about the praetorian I guess?Ghost Lightning wrote...
The only hard part of ME2 was the Collector ship on Insanity. And that was poor level design, not actual difficulty. So I doubt ME3 will make the same mistakes and thus be more challenging, but more managable.

Really? I found Horizon on Insanity to be the hardest part, due mostly to the lack of the majority of upgrades and several squadmates.

only part of ME2 that was difficult somewhat above avarage was "battle for the object Rho" and only becouse you needed to change your playing style for this one.

On veteran as along as I can make it to the corners and stop the pyros from getting to close I can make it all the way through the object rho fight before the device itself takes me out.
