The devs have said the levels will basically move up one: Normal will now be Veteren, Veteren will now be Hardcore, etc.

You are talking about the praetorian I guess?Ghost Lightning wrote...
The only hard part of ME2 was the Collector ship on Insanity. And that was poor level design, not actual difficulty. So I doubt ME3 will make the same mistakes and thus be more challenging, but more managable.
No, the platforms.

Note: I do hope they make easy mode easy enough for you OP.

I tried once when it first came out and got Jack's recruitment without a problem, then died 3 or 4 times and binned it.
I hope BW are serious about shortening loading times with 3, cause if its the same as 2 i wont complete it.

But seriously, bumping up the difficulty doesn't seem like a bad thing at all, if you can't beat ME1/ME2 on normal I don't understand how you can play games period.

I gotta be honest, i'v not yet completed ME2 on Insanity. I'm a shooter guy aswell, i just get sooo frustrated with the loading times, i'v never got round to doing it!

i am going by the statements made at the conventions and articles. all by the developers and reporters. they said all the diffuculty levels would be like the next one up. I will try to find some quotes for ya if you want.

I say the harder the better. Personally, I was able to blow through both ME1 and ME2 on insanity without hardly dying by my 3rd or 4th playthrough, so I say bring it on.
Note: I do hope they make easy mode easy enough for you OP.Such a heavily story based game should have easy mode be a walk in the park for people like yourself who are more interested in the non-shooter aspects of the game (Hence why I'm a big supporter of non-combat powers/items/etc for added gameplay variety.)
I agree. I think there should be and hopefully is room for all of us to be happy. I do want the game to be harder for those that would get more out of it. I want fun for all and this game to be talked about and played for years and decades to come. it will only make all the other games that are out there better. cheers

Imagine that he had played all the way though Eden Prime + All the citadel missions + Feros without ever taking a single level.. i was impressed
Point is that if you find a game exceedingly hard you're often overlooking something.

You're talking about the Praetorian fight I bet. That fight was a pain on Insanity.Ghost Lightning wrote...

I dont have ME1 i have a PS3, its not available to me. and to answer your question, its the story, its the characters, its the decisions and what they will mean. I am 33 years old. and am not a hardcore gamer. other than neverwinter nights and diablo 2 i haven't played games since i was 13. so i am out of practice. been playing some others like DE, which may help me out with ME3. I am learning. ultimately thats all i can say. I have turned my nose up completely to games that are too difficult though as the battles are too long and complex. I don't want to keep trying after 3 or 4 hours getting through a level. its just too much.

^This.
I'm bit confused why you'd feel the need to cheat in DA2. I am also more of an RPGer and tend to play on normal or easy. On easy in DA2 looking at the mobs would make them explode.

Yep, It takes AGES to load!
I'v got a bad temper and if i die cheaply, then end up staring at a loading screen for a minute, i just get madder and madder and madder. I'm not gonna do it to myself
EDIT: I'v beaten just about every other decent shooter out there on it's hardest settings, but none of them take anywhere near as long as ME2 to load. (Not boasting, just trying to make a point)

Not necessarily. Nothing to overlook when it comes to games like Ninja Gaiden, that game is just hard.Anacronian Stryx wrote...

If you are on PC and playing ona machine with 2 or 4 cores, look for a program called Mass Affinity. Using it to start ME2 makes it load much much faster.

thx i will pay attention. I have one of my characters (female infiltrator) at the collector base. I have only died 1 time with that character. but i camp and pick off. I have maxed out my incinerate also which is a godsend. because of that play style it gets hard with husks, but i have the kestral armor so i can hit them. i just get overwhwelmed mentally and emotionally because i get scared. not really of dying just the bad guys in general (i really get into it lol). so if they doo add to the diffuculty then that is my fear that i will just get too scared and/or frustrated and not play. thus not be able to finish the story i have come to love. BTW, that amazing that he went that long without leveling up, kudos to him.
