I thought one of DA's best qualities is the lack of hard and fast morality. And I don't think she's that much of a threat, if you refuse her offer. Given the typical frequency of blights, she won't get another chance for centuries. Also the Old God may not be "evil", the only info anyone has on them is from very old and possibly very inaccurate sources. And who's to say every thinking, feeling creature isn't just a fade spirit that's found it's way into the corporeal world?

This is the rationale I used when making my decision to use the baby to absorb the old god. Morrigan may be cunning...but she's got a soft spot for the warden that I think is very real :/

I agree. Though I understand that Morrigan is a bit of hard character to like, and an easy one to misunderstand.

I am not wanting to be contrary to anyone in this forum because one of the best features of this game is that you can actually BE the character you want to be. How you choose to deal with any situation has some consequence that may or may not become apparent, like life in general it is a dice roll. For evey character after the first run through i would consider as best as i could the origin of the characters and would carry that as best as i could through the entire game.

first character
Playing as a city elf when you meet the king in Ostagar you have the option to be rude or excercise some class, i chose class, as for every character. The city elf origin also has the potential for the MC to have a giant chip on thier shoulder, again i chose to play the character as if i had to prove contrary to the accepted opinion, elves are not worthless. I also considered that the blight was not just a human issue as dark spawn are indescriminate in who they kill, so protecting the humans also protected my people as well. Loghain took the final blow.

second character
The human noble origin influenced every decision from my responses when meeting the king to what reward i chose at the end. I played it as i wanted my families land back and pity the blight that just happened to get in the way while i was on my original mission. The most important thing is that while my families lands may have been seized by Lord Howe i was still of noble birth and how i carried myself was a direct reflection on my lineage. Allister tricked me and took the final blow himself probably to avoid being king.

third character
This character proved to be the most difficult to stay in character for as an elf mage (heal bot) raised in the tower, indoctrinated in the ways of the chantry, i am not accepted by the humans, but also i am not accepted by elves either. This character was colder than even the previous 2 in every decision was made more for getting the job done as opposed to the happy ending. This character was darker, more cynical if you will, and i played it as if i did not care what happened so long as i got my armies to fight the blight. I backed Anora for the throne and let Allister be what he wanted to be a Grey Warden. But for all that, this character was the one that took the final blow and the funeral scene at the end got me good.

What does any of this have to do with the original post? Well on this fourth run through i am again a mage human (pure DPS, not ready for BM yet) but again taking the role of Grey Wardens as protectors Morrigan's offer is not a very good one, all i would be doing is putting off till another day what should be dealt with the first time. Morrigan's offer while at first glance appears to be reasonable, i did not spend 20 to 30 hours of game play  each time chewing the same chunks of dirt over and over again smiting evil only to allow evil to escape its reward, my blade thrust deeply into it's core to send it back to whence it came. I will say that for every play through so far i agree that if i even remotely considered Morrigan a threat to the stability i worked so hard to bring to the land i would with out hesitation run her through in that room in Redcliffe showing no more remorse for than the previous dark spawn i killed earlier that day. But as i figure it Morrigan has her own problems, namely staying one step ahead of Flemeth, good luck with that little girl, so ingraciate yourself with the court in Orlais, become more powerful, your gonna need it, Flemeth wil look you up and take what is hers, waiting is probably more cruel and there is no one who deserves it more than Morrigan.

This game is one of the few that has really been able to hit me on an emotional level through good writing, damn fine immersion into the character, when they bled i bled, when they cried i cried, when they died i died.
