Yeah, I figured. Remember I'm still very new to this, and I'm avoiding mods as much as possible. I've patched and used the 'core fixes' from G3, but I'm still a little reluctant to start changing things until I've had more experience with the base game. I do appreciate y'all letting me know about those mods though . . .

the G3 tweakpack has a component that changes it too. It's pretty nice in that you can pick and choose every single component, so if you want you can install it ONLY to change the cloak of mirroring effect.

Yeah, I was wondering, if I wanted to install tweaks from that pack that I skipped the first time, do I need to completely uninstall and reinstall, or can I just run the tweakpack again and pick up new tweaks? I wouldn't be doing this mid-game, but before I started a new game . . .

The setup exe for Weidu mods (that's pretty much every mod you can find these days) can be used for easy installation and deinstallation.
If you install a component of a mod separately and later than the rest of the mod, this may have consequences. So you should read the readmes carefully which mod (component) should come at what point in your installation order.

What's the best weapon for Jaheira? I like the idea of her dual-wielding scimitars, but it's so hard to find decent ones. Spectral Brand is usually impossible for me to get without reloading fifty times, and while Belm is nice, it's only +2. The only other decent scimitar is the +3 one in the Underdark.

Should I just keep to Staff of Rynn, later to be replaced by Staff of the Ram?

Doesn't it depend on where you are in SoA and ToB? You can get the Staff of Rynn very early, the Staff of the Woodlands is extremely useful in Hades, and by the time you can get a ToB superweapon Jaheira is such a powerful magic user that it's a waste to have her as a frontline fighter - even though she's very good at it. Besides, someone has to have custody of the Air, Earth, and Fire staffs for dealing with cranky elementals, so why not her? Finally it's a fun animation to see a very large stunned  critter sailing across the screen pursued by a 130# half-elf swinging the Ram staff.

Spears. Impaler spear + gww pretty much rules in Soa. Ixil's Spike +6 in tob, is another wtf weapon, available right from the start, if you completed wk, gives you immunity to hold, while casting hold on enemies. Staves are Okay, but not... great. the ram stuff knockbacks enemies, and instead of killing them you spend time running after them (wasting gww time and decreasing dps)

I have recently been reminded that the best dualwielding option for Jaheira (if you can dress her up in asbestos* or give her some other form of fire repellant) is actually Club of Detonation + Belm.




*and if you aren't scared of her getting cancer...

 Don't forget to give the rest of your party sufficient Fire protection and be prepared to deal with any pissed off elemental and deva allies who don't appreciate being singed by their summoners. Like flinging fireballs in city streets and killing civilians, weapons with area effects have to be used cautiously and thus,IMHO, are a bit questionable as "first choice" armament.
