Tell that to Cpl Toombs and David Archer.
Toombs is a blubbering, mentally deficient crazy person who belongs in protective care for his own safety as well as the safety of others.
Archer understood the needs of humanity well.
Sometimes for the greater whole to flourish the individual must make sacrifices.
TIM fights primarily for a smaller whole, not the greater whole.

David has autism, your thinking of his brother Dr. Gavin Archer Big difference there. David couldn't say no. Sole Survivor Shepard was on Akuze too, or did you forget that?Saphra Deden wrote...

You don't sacrifice innocent people and say someone has principles.

Oh, that's true. Well, David doesn't understand much of anything in any particularly complex way, especially not something like sacrifice or species. He's more useful to humanity, doing more good, now than he ever was before.

And what kind of sick twisted person does that to a family member? Please. David never once stayed in Archer's care. Even my renegade Shep pistol whipped him.

You are driven by emotion. I understand that. I, however, aspire to push my emotions to the side for the benefit of others and myself. That emotional reaction in you, that burning pit in your stomach, that righteous fury when you saw David, is something to be kept in check like a pet dog. You are the master, not the dog.
What we want or need and what we feel aren't always in agreement.
I was horrified to see David like that too. I wanted to set him free. Just as I wanted to set the rachni queen free. However I understood that it was my responsibility to do not what I wanted, but what needed to be done.

Meta-gaming.
I'd rather prevent the worse possible outcome and also prevent the best possible outcome, than allow the worst possibility even a chance to come to fruition.
It is possible that if I play a game of soccer in a field that contains a single landmine that I'll win and all will be well, but I also might step on the land mine.
Would you play that game of soccer? Would you let your children play that game of soccer? There's only ONE landmine.

TIM, sorry buddy, humanity can NOT do this alone. Nor should they. The Reapers are going after everyone not just humanity. Something TIM fails to grasp.
TIM discusses needing the Quarians,Vorcha,Geth and Krogan in his notes in ME2.

But we were not given that choice, so she did what she thought was the right thing. Stopping that crap that Archer was doing was the right thing. You don't agree and that's fine with me.
Trying to dominate other species is NOT the right thing. And my Shepard understands this. It's also one of the reason some of her closest friends are aliens and not humans. TIM thinks he knows what is best for humanity, but trying to dominate other species is not in humanity's best interest.
All the species need to work together or they will all die alone. Another thing TIM fails to grasp.

The mission summaries talk about needing quarian forces in the Reaper conflict, about the possible usefulness of krogan shocktroops, and the need for vorcha informents to spie on the krogan.

Right, she is driven by her own internal compass and everyone else can just go to hell.

Then explain why Cerberus is trying to stop Shepard from rescuing the fertile Krogan female on Sur'Kash? If TIM actually believes what he says. He reminds me of a used car salemans. He will say anything and everything to get Shepard to buy into what he is selling. My Shepard is smart enough to not trust him.Saphra Deden wrote...

Currently there is no explanation but clearly Cerberus actions in ME3 as we have so far seen them are in complete contradiction with their actions and plans as they were laid out in ME2.

Reasonable, but it many cases, the worst-case scenario's odds are so low that worrying about it is comparable to never leaving your house in case of getting hit by a car. The history of the Rachni Wars is vague and seems barely applicable to the current queen unless you want to assume that every member of every species will act alike, Sovereign was already screwed out of his plan to open the Citadel relay before the Destiny Ascension decision came up, and the vast majority of geth aren't hostile.Saphra Deden wrote...
