PC 360/Controller support

PC Games w/Controller support (practially every game including The longest journey wow).  PC Games w/o controller support !!Bioware pc games!!    Not for bloody Mass Effect 1 or 2, not for Dragons Age 1 or 2 this tells me someone high up in EA/Bioware has issues likely the publisher who set rules.

Previous thread by me http://social.biowar...8/index/5890606

Look this IS insane dont tell me to take my money elsewhere, dont tell me to shut up and use keyboard and mouse, dont tell me buy a console, dont tell me this is a publisher/developement decision its insane.

I dont think Battlefield 3 for PC will have it either.................

This is pretty low on my list of important features.

Why wpuld you gimp yourself? If my machine wasn't such an inconsistent piece of junk I'd damn well be playing on it - w/o a controller instead of my 360. 10 hotkeys are better than 3.

I actually feel more restricted if I HAVE to use a controller to play a game on PC. I do it for Mirror's Edge (in fact I have to replace my adapter since it got fried) because it just works better, but the ME series...I prefer with mouse and keyboard.

By all means, they should give you the option to use your controller, but you knew there wasn't controller support before you bought the game. Or at least I hope you did. It's up to you to research what's possible with a game as far as what is needed to play it. You get min and recommended requirements for any game on PC. On the back of the box that's all listed and if a controller can be used it's specified as well. Mass Effect didn't say it was geared to controller use, but my copy of GTAIV does say I can use a controller.

Why do you want to play any of the mentioned games with a controller?

What makes you feel that your experience would be enhanced if you could use a controller while playing these games?

I'm asking seriously because I just do not understand why this is such a big issue for you?

i have to agree to him. This is from someone who has played both me1 and me2 0n 360. Going to the pc version is a culture shock and somewhat of an aggravation. It actually sways me away from the pc version. No disrespect is meant to those long time pc players. I would love to see thisoption for Me3

This amuses me. I think DISTURBING AND INSANE should become a catchphrase for inanely dramatic threads (i.e. 90% of the threads on this board).

The interesting fact is that the PC interface support isn't that good to begin with.

There are two great advantages you get on PC that you wouldn't get to enjoy if you chose to play with a console controller:

1- The keyboard.
2- The mouse.

I prefer a controller to the horrible keyboard/mouse setup as well. 10 hotkeys be damned.

I never understood how people could play games on an interface that wasn't specifically designed for it, especially one so cumbersome and unergonomic as the mouse/keyboard combo.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but I can't find it in myself to care about your apoplexy over the fact that the controllers aren't supported. 1) Even if it's not officially supported, controllers can work (possibly with some effort from someone clever) and 2) If the controller absolutely doesn't work, there's the keyboard and mouse - something that most of us (the PC gamers anyway) find advantageous in most cases.

I don't run around whinging about limited functionality in ports where the control schemes actually do favor the use of a gamepad, etc.- I make do with what I have. I suggest that instead of insane ranting (which is what you seem to be doing), you try the the same thing I do: adapt to the circumstances.

I knew this thread would get a ton of hate as soon as I saw it. Sure, the title is an enormous exaggeration (it's not disturbing, nor is it insane), but the topic still has merit. Is there a reason why the PC version shouldn't have the OPTION of using a controller? The devs are already making an Xbox/PS3 UI and mapping commands for a controller. Why not add that to the PC version? Gamepad setting on = console UI and controls, Gamepad setting off= KB/M and PC UI.

It worked for BioShock.

See, now this is disturbing and insane.  You need to use more accurate adjectives.  Some good ones might be "Slightly Disconcerting" and "A Bit Nitpicky" EA/Bioware issue.  Granted those have adverbs too, but the language is much more accurate.  I actually agree with making more controller options, but try to keep it in perspective.  Bioware just laughs at screaming drama queens, and rightly so.

PC has more hot keys than console. Keyboard/Mouse more precise, more natural to any PC Gamer. Just more logical.

Over-exaggeration.  Have you looked at the responses?  What registers as a "ton of hate" to you?  Do you view a "Do Not Enter" sign as overbearing and stripping you of your freedoms?<_<

That's something they wanted to do way back in ME1 but didn't have the balls (they recorded same-sex dialogue for both Ash and Kaidan).  But we are in the year 2011 now, social justice is making progress every year (especially for gays), and good game developers aren't going to alienate 10% of the population.  Totally different scenario.
