Just saw a new article from CVG asking why Mass Effect has taken over the world. Check out the article here.

Do you think Mass Effect has taken over the world?

But to answer your question... it currently my most anticipated game of next year. I am also terrified that you guys are going to screw it up and turn me into a non-gamer for the rest of my life. Here's hoping for the best.

That article was all fluff and no substance.

However, I do think something very interesting is going to happen on March 6, something that will probably result in a lot of sick days and class absences.

ME3, with all its promises and expectations, will either be the greatest game I ever played or the most crushing disappointment.

The series has certainly given me many hours of enjoyable gameplay (now that I've started playing the first game).  So I would have to yes, it has taken over the world...the world of RPGs and gaming in general.

I think it has taken over the gaming world at least, there's still some time left before games reach the same diffusion level motion pictures has, THEN it would be possible a game like ME could take over the world like other sagas (Star Wars) has.

I guess a good start for that would be if the movie the guys from Legendary pictures are making lives up to the game. Here's hoping

No. It's not my most anticipated game. That's Skyrim. And after that it's Diablo III.

I'd anticipate ME3 more if it weren't for the stupid Thermal Clips.

I find shooters boring and by the way, I liked the Mako. I don't even play the hover tank missions.

they've looped in Xbox's rabid shooter community, bred on Call of Duty and Gears of War, and widened the appeal further.

And all but completely ignored the RPG fans.

That article reminded me of the kind of thing I would write at five in the morning, high on caffeine and ranting at a friend about how great my Mass Effect thing is. I would tell a friend it was the biggest game of 2012 and I'd remind them that ME2's sales bested ME1's because people had realized over time just how grand the whole gig really was. And I'd proudly proclaim that it's taking over the world.

And my friend would be like 'uh-huh' and tell me to go to bed.

Not really. No one except for the friends to whom I've given Mass Effect as gifts know what my N7 hoodie is all about. Since there's a road here in Ireland called the N7, most people probably think I'm really devoted to infrastructure.

ME is certainly a fantastic franchise and I love it. It has taken up a lot of my time, I'll say that.

Now Star Wars, that took over the world and even changed it, literally.
