Vehicles: Yay or Nay?

I was actually expecting quite a few vehice threads, and I'm sure there was some when the ME3 category was first made, but in my entire time being here, I haven't seen one. So, question.
Vehicles.
It's my understanding alot of people hated the Mako. I never found the controls bad actually (besides having 4 freaking zoom levels), just the gameplay. Climbing 80 degree hills, having Threshers spawn UNDER you, being able to pick enemies off at 3km with the 155mm. Although, hopping over missiles with my jumpjets was fun.
The Hammerhead was a big improvement, however. Although it is unrealistic in the fact the Mako is better in practically EVERY way except manoevrability (lasting 30 seconds in -50 temperatures? Really?). There is potential for platforming here, actually. I think the M-44 should come back, but with the 155mm rather then the spam-happy missile launcher and a little more health. Include a single zoom level on the right mouse, too.
The skycar on LotSB, meh, whatever. Seemed like a gimmick to me. Let me fly one of them Gunships (1000 commands and spot-on physics) with my 200$ X-52 Pro I use for flight simming! That is partially a joke.

Hoping that vehicles in ME3 are actually fun, but with the current track record so far I have to say Nay.

I THINK they said there wouldn't be vehicles. Not sure about that

Alright now on to the hamerhead... I think this had been expressed multiple times already, but the hammerhead had fantastic maneuverability. I personally preferred the mako because it felt more... grounded, but the hammerhead was great fun to fly around with. However the thing had frakking paper armor. Even on the easier difficulties the hammerhead would turn to flames VERY quickly. With the godlke accuracy of all the enemies faced while fighting, it led to much rage from me. Its weapons also sucked, I missed far more often with auto-tracking missles than I ever did with the Mako's machine gun! We really need a direct fire weapon.
Other than that, more vehicle opportunities would be great if done right. For example, like you said zakatak, flying one of those gunships during a major military operation would provide both the scale and seriousness of the operation to help set the atmosphere of the game.
Although this is just my personal preference, I hope we don't get any too arcady action sequences. This is a serious intergalactic war with heavy consequences, I don't want to take out a reaper with a gunship or something silly like that.

Bring back the Mako, but:
1) 1.5x the jump height with some minor controllability in the air
2) one zoom level, not 4
3) flatter maps please
4) add speed, no boost necessary though
5) more believable physics, no mega-adhesive tires

Bring back the Hammerhead: Nay! Kill it with fire! Oops, too late. Already done.

I enjoyed the Sky Car sequence and wish it was longer....hoping for another fast paced drive in ME3 also.
As for Space Ships...not for me please.

And yes, I do actually have that game and a 200$ joystick and throttle to match. Expensive taste, actual pilot.

I'd love to see a revamped Big Trak,, I mean Mako,
ideally with rear thrusters, it was such a sorry
sight to see the Mako get halfway up an incline
just to start sliding back down like an old Morris
Minor with a clutch problem.
If there is to be a vehicle of some discription then
that would mean there'd be an element of open-world
game-play, and after hour after hour of CQC in corridors
and rooms would be a welcome addition to keep game-play
varied and interesting. (to me anyway)
So that's a resounding yay from me.

Unless it's another car chase scene like in the LotSB DLC. Hammerhead/Mako NO.

Nay. Get rid of them all. Just stop wasting everyone's time please, and use the development resources for more conversation or deeper RPG mechanics.
Oh, come on. It may be impractical for ME3 (galactic war and all), but it definitely adds a demension to the game.
Oh, and for development time, there are probably several other things that

All in all, I'm yay for vehicles as they do indeed add dimension to the game, I just think they should remain limited as they have been.

You guys are damn lucky I'm not making this game. I would have an A-61 Gunship sequence like this! Or at least, the level of realism. Lol.
And yes, I do actually have that game and a 200$ joystick and throttle to match. Expensive taste, actual pilot.
Oh please 'No'...I don't play games like that for a reason...I would get so bored and stop playing the game.

I think Casey said they won't be implementing any kind of ship combat. That does suck though but maybe they just can't figure out a way of implementing it well enough outside of a cutscene.Biotic Sage wrote...
The only vehicle combat Bioware should be focusing on for ME3 is the Normandy. Having a game that hinges around an interstellar starship war is kind of lame if you never get to participate in it.
