Never got why the team didn't simply patch that one.

I think Casey said they won't be implementing any kind of ship combat. That does suck though but maybe they just can't figure out a way of implementing it well enough outside of a cutscene.Biotic Sage wrote...
The only vehicle combat Bioware should be focusing on for ME3 is the Normandy. Having a game that hinges around an interstellar starship war is kind of lame if you never get to participate in it.
I don't remember Casey saying this, but I could have either missed it or forgotten I suppose. They seem to be doing some Star Fox style ship combat for TOR; I'm sure they could figure out a way to do something semi-linear like that for a few epic Normandy space battle scenes.

I remember seeing the space combat vids a while ago. Something like that could definitely work. If Kingdom Hearts II can have space battles why not Mass Effect 3?Biotic Sage wrote...

The Hammerhead is not just flimsy but NO FUN AT ALL to drive, because it bumps against every little ground unevenness and cannot fly a bit.

Mako - shoots self. I don't know how it works on x-box, but on PC? its beyond annoying. I cannot turn it with a mouse and A and D are so sluggish, I feel like I'm moving through mud. aiming with it was annoying - if you at a slightly wrong angle - your shots even when aimed at actual target right in front of you... go somewhere into the ground while those targets can hit you just fine. ridiculous terrain just added insult to injury.
I don't like driving in real life. I know, blasphemy. but its the truth. i only drive when I have no other choice. I don't want to have to drive in game. if I wanted to drive, I would have bought a driving game. if I wanted a platformer, I would have bought a platformer.
I don't mind if the vehicles are in game, as long as I'm not forced to use them in order to proceed through it. LOTSB- that car chase? my absolute least favorite part. its one saving grace is the fact that it doesn't reset you to the very start if you crush/lose target - so you can kinda crawl along until you finally hit the cutscene

It's funny how much better the Ilium skycars would be for the purpose of travering difficult terrain. Not that the hammerhead was perfect but at least it was on the right track.

The issue with the Hammerhead is the armament. Give it the Mako's turret(canon + machine gun) and it'll be perfect.

I have an issue with it being a ridiculous jumping frog that feels out of place in the universe. The Mako seemed much more ME authentic to me.

I wouldn't mind driving the Normandy though, that'd be pretty neat.

I don't know why people hated the Mako.
First person controls with a 3rd person camera, it's not that difficult.
Once i was able to go to any planet in ME1, i would just land on a random planet and look for things to do there. Found a bunch of side missions, geth, thresher maws, and artifacts. It broke up all the shooting and talking and gave the universe some depth and scale, which was SORELY missing in ME2.
Mako = YES!
Hammerhead = If it gets a armor upgrade, then yes
Some motorcycle type of hoverbike = YES!
Variety, it's the spice of life.

Yay for the Mako. It gave the planets a sense of scale that Mass effect 2 lacked.
Totally agree.

I really can't fathom people's love for the Mako, It beggars belief why people in the 23th century would explore planets in a WWII armored buggy.

Remember, different planet = different levels of gravity and atmospheric conditions would render the Hammerhead pretty useless. The Mako felt more like a real vehicle on a new world vs a mech rabbit on speed.

Same applies to the Mako, unless you think gravity somehow doesn't affect wheeled vehicles. And it doesn't really matter because both have mass effect cores that can compensate.

But for Mako and Hammerhead is nay.
Though LotSB Taxi is yay.

QTF.
I miss the Mako and would like both the Hammerhead and having the ability to choose depending on the variety of the terrain.

Yes, but a ground based vehicle would be less impacted by gravity than a FLYING vehicle.

As far as personal preference goes the Mako wins hands down; even the environments which were admittedly the weakest part of the experience were completely bearable IMO. Beyond that the only other problem with the Mako was that the controls needed tuning other than that I was set.
The Hammerhead on the other hand I despised the only improvement I can actually think of was the controls. Everything else the lame weapons, lack of a HUD, environments that feel like they were ripped out of a Mario game, I won't even get into how the thing spontaneously combusted like it's nobodies business. The one exception to this is the overlord map which completely mitigates the terribad of the HH just because it is so awesome with the only thing stopping from calling it the best vehicle section in ME is what seems like BWs compulsive need to throw in arbitrary platforming sections.
So something Makoish with Overlord enivronments large enough that there is some illusion of exploration but small enough to be have a focus to them, with no platforming bits and a decent vehicle HUD and I will be completely satisfied.

Again, so what? You crank up the ME core a bit and reduce the Hammerhead's mass enough so you can use the same amount of downward thrust.

Strap some machine guns on that thing and we're good to go.
