This was covered in another thread already . . . But just like I suggested in the other vehicle thread , my idea , give us all 3 . . .
The shuttle would be for direct drop of at a pinpointed area , for fast deployment.
No weapons, and would have very minimal upgrade capabilities.

Hammerhead for fast exploration , is to maneuver over water terrain and would have mid level up grade capabilities, weapons , booster jets , lite shield barrier.

Mako for ground exploration in hostile enviorments and heavy battle areas, strongest armor , better armor and weapons all able to be upgraded to high level battle tank

This system would allow user who don't want to explorer but head into the mission use the shuttle.
Users would get a planetary scan informing them of the planets hot spots , hostiles enviorments to give the player an idea on which vehicle would be best suited for the mission
The player would also have the ability to exit or enter the vehicle at their own discretion.

To me this would satisfy all players Mako, hammerhead and shuttle players.

Me myself I liked the Mako the terrain just wasn't suited for the vehicle ,maybe if a wench and grappling hook was add for pulling up those high steep mountains would have helped.
But I say yes to vehicles.

You could get the Mako to climb a nearly verticle rock wall if you hit it on a diagonal.

More Hammerhead please, although its lack of armor needs to be fixed.

Never got why the team didn't simply patch that one.

The issue with the Hammerhead is the armament. Give it the Mako's turret(canon + machine gun) and it'll be perfect.

Nah, it needed to be somewhat to differentiate it from the Mako, although a lack of armor isn't that. Still, considering all the complaints, they could've issued a rather simple patch (or included the fix with another one) that tripled or quadrupled its armor, so that ramming once again becomes a viable tactic.

Like I said 2 different vehicles for 2 different purposes.

M-35 Mako = siege
M-44 Hammerhead = recon

Despite the lack of popularity with the HH, you have to give BW recognition for trying to address the issues people had with mako.

Rear thrusters/boosters were a common request, as was an end to the bouncing. They gave us those things. We also got zero shields, crappy missiles, and lost the machine gun too, but hey, at least they're trying.

Yes, I know I use to do that all the time, I basically was adding in the wench and grappling hook as an upgrade for players who may have found it difficult to do so

I say YAY for air or space combat, and NAY for both the Hammerhead and the Mako with the ground combat; they botch kind of got rather monotonous to me. However the Car chase seen in LOTSB was surprisingly really fun and very enjoyable indeed.

I never thought I'd say it, but I missed the Mako. Big time. As clunky as the gameplay was with it, those levels gave ME1 a much more 'exploring alien world/harsh environments' feel to it than did ME2 - which was a largely indoors experience.

I would love to see the Mako return in ME3, with better level/control design to account for it. Sadly I don't think we'll see it, as they're focusing even more on the shooter elements. Remember your pillars Bioware! Exploration!

I go with no! Especially to the Mako. But I wouldn't mind a few missions with them. But having them in every mission annoyed me.

I say yay, but for the hammerhead. Make it much more powerful (or at least mako standard) the same can go for durability and perhaps slow it down a bit.

I've also seen some threads about using the Normandy. I think it can be possible, I mean, if you take the same controls from the car in LotSB, all it needs is a fire Javelin missles (left trigger/right trigger) and Thanix cannon, if upgraded, can be placed on left bumper/right bumper.

One tiny problem. Flying ships is not Shepard's job description. It's the equivalent of expecting a Navy SEAL to pilot a fighter jet.

If only the Mass Effect Universe had Siege Tanks, that would be awesome. <3

mako-esque Yay! I enjoyed things like riding to peak 15. They just need to tweak the controls.

The hammerhead didn;t feel right in my opinion, it didn't feel or behave like something out of the ME Universe.

LotSB like car scenes are very welcome too. the vehicles are good for variety.

The Hammerhead was garbage... the Mako could take a lot more hits than its successor... besides I could get the Mako into a lot of tough places... so hover tech is not an issue as long as I can keep my jump jets

Definitely "Yay!" And please, let it be the Mako. I, for one, enjoyed all that bouncing around. Especially the part where I imagine how my squad mates are feeling right now.

Both the hammerhead and mako were poorly designed. Way lower quality than the core gameplay. If done well, vehicles are good for a change of pace, doing a crappy job is pointless though.

As long as the vehicle doesn't have the armor value of a piece of paper.
