Seems we will be waiting about 2+ years for a continuation.

Yeah, thats pretty old.

2 years give or take seems the best bet. That's how long most sequels take.

Let me see.

For Mass Effect 1, BioWare told you to keep your saved games before the game came out. They mentioned frequently on the forums that you need to keep your saved games as ME 2 will use them.

For Dragon Age, we have one vague statement that the world is 'evolving’ and that he’d *like* for the choices made to impact that. However, absolutely no dev has said we should keep our saved games, which is something you’d think they’d know about before the game shipped.

Based on this, it’s totally obvious that DA2 will read DA:O saved games. I mean, it’s a certainty.

It confirms nothing. In the interview all that was said was (at that time) they weren't "really talking about it at the moment" and implied it's something they'd like to do. Like to do and doing are two different things. I wouldn't get your hopes up though.

It works well enough with Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2 because the hero doesn't end up dead at the end of the story, unlike Dragon Age where it's quite possible the hero will end up dead at the end of the story based on your choices in the game.

That's easily fixed.

See Fall out 3's Broken Steel DLC for an example of that. Though I'm sure BioWare will do better.

It will be a first if they do.

but they'd make a lot of money and satisfy a lot of dragon age origins gamers until they released a sequel... I keep backups on a memory card just in-case... because I will assume it will go well with Mass Effect 2, and if it does... they may be looking forward to that being their new trademark, not to mention it helps sell games if someone skipped out on let's say ME, ME2 is coming so they wanna be ready and go out and buy it.................. good for us consumers and good for the company's profits

sooo uhh yea for Dragon Age 2 i hope to god they bring all the same characters back!!!(Liliana,Morrigan,Alistair..etc.) - DAO bieng one of my all time favorite games so far i would be extremely dissapointed if they didnt bring the characters back and let you bring your saves over to make each character leave off at the level of respect you had them at. =D my hopes are HUGE for DA2...anyone got any news on that?

Broken Steel was actually a very bad game. Sure, there were a few new quests, but the new areas were repetitive and lifeless, and the main plot was just poor.
