Yes, its taking the ones for achievements and for the plot, but I cannot take manual user screenshots. I have it bound properly and even added another bind... neither of the buttons work to create the screenshot.

It doesn't get saved in any folder and the command doesn't seem to be recognized at all.

I don't care too much about the auto-screenshot taking element, though I have to admit, its a tad savvy. But... I like to take my own screenshots as this game is beautiful.

I had seen a few posts like this in other forums, but the question was never answered. I know the posters probably meant well, but it was just a bunch of extraneous information or comments that did not help.

Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone have a way to perhaps glean a solution?

I have the exact same problem bumping/begging for some info. You can only stab the arch-demon in the head ever so often.

I had this issue too. I tried a few mappings and nothing worked. Then I tried mapping it to F12, and that worked. YMMV

Any other suggestions? Do I have a bad install? Do I need to do a voodoo chant at midnight and sacrifice a chicken and perhaps a goat? (not unlike blood magic!)

I have a suggestion: I've recently gone into my Albums & found a previously not there album that says it's for DA:O Screenshots. I think it mighta been an Album bug fix for the previously bugged 'ghost album' that was there before. I've heard that some deleted that album after they found it, & I wonder if the deleting of that album is a cause of these in-game screenshot maladies. Deleting that album might be giving in-game screenshots nowhere to go to.



Can anyone confirm? (We need better feedback on when such fixes show up to prevent such problems.)

Well I haven't messed with any of the files that relate to screenshots, only file I've deleted was the single-player file that the toolset uses to break your game.

The search function does work, but you need to read the correct ones!!

Same thing happens to me. 

Easy fix that works for me, though somewhat annoying since you have to do this everytime you restart the game.

Just alt+tab to desktop, then alt+tab back into game.

Almost all windows games can be screnshotted by hitting Prt Scr/Sys Rq button on the keyboard. You shouldn't have to bind any screenshot key to the game

True TallBear, but this game does have an issue as the prt scrn button doesn't work for all. Doing my edit to the ini will fix the problem..

I did originally try to use the prt sc key because it is default, but when that didn't work, I tried rebinding it, which when I hit the new hotkey, my game would occasionally freeze.

Syklonis01 - I am going to review your link, Syklonis01. I thank you for taking the time to post in this thread. I'll admit, I'm not used to this format of forums, so I was having difficulty getting proper search results. I am not intentionally asking a question that has been answered a billion times.



Tallbear - Almost all. This game, not so.



Adante - Oh really... that is somewhat... not good. I recall having an issue with WoW - the local client became corrupt and non-interactive if I alt-tabbed while loading a zone. While in this game, everything remains interactive, yet I cannot take screenshots. AFIAK, I never have with this game. But, I shall try to see if your advice helps.



Tyrnex - I'm sure that is the source of the issue for some. But, I haven't deleted anything. This is a clean install, as far as I know. Interesting idea though.



Gorestain - ..and I have not downloaded the toolset yet, so I don't have the issues surrounding that. I want to though... but you know how it is.. one crisis at a time.

Alright, um. Well, I can take screenshots now... but print screen, even when bound.. does not work. But that is small potatoes, I guess. At least it works now! Thanks, Syklonis01, your suggestion did work.

Glad you got it to work Jayndoe! I racked my brain on this too, since Bioware and EA support is so sparse..Getting help on a lot of things has been trial and error it seems on the user end. Sometimes it has been simple solutions which should be noted to users..here's hoping to future patch notes to these problems.

Indeed. Though I wonder if its an issue with a certain video card series or something? Because on another computer, I had no problem taking screenshots. Odd, to say the least. Seems the kind of bug that would become apparent given proper QA, but, there you go. I guess things do slip through.. I just happen to be the unfortunate soul who has the luck to experience most of them.
