We are a server that is a little over 7years. We have a very good staff of DM's and a good sized playerbase. Like any other PW  we could always use more players and DM's. We have a lot of custom items, feats, skills, and prestige classes. We have an automated rp xp system in place to reward those who rp without a dm around.  Our leveling system is designed to reward storyline progression and roleplay over grinding and farming and the system is being constantly updated.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try and help out. I am one the longest players and DM's on the server and have a lot of knowledge about the server.

7 = Staying IC "all the time". Always walking when not fleeing from combat. Staying long times at campfires talking about the adventures.

10 = Not even getting of the starting map cause of uber political roleplaying with NPC's lead to PC's become presidents of Neverwinter and then build a portal and port in scientists from year 2503 who in turn build a large solar powered laser-cannon mounted on a satelite that orbits the realm. With the use GPS coordinates the cannon is used to obliterate each and every bad guy/monster :-)

Taking the liberty of using this here as I'm too lazy to retype it, where would you put the rp of the playerbase in general?

I would say the majority of the player base falls somewhere around 7. Some would be a 6 and others an 8 on that scale.

I have been there six years on staff and we only have banned 8 players. Each of the eight players had been talked to about breaking the rules of the server multiple times. It takes a lot to get banned.

Why is it that everything has to be troll with you guys. Can't you ever say or come up with another name than troll? How about ogre or hobgoblin. I prefer slaadi. Those creatures are awesome.

I also spend time here myself, despite not being a PW junkie or have much experience with them, I've enjoyed my stay. It's a very high magic world, and new players are quick to gain appropriate levels with exploration and adventure. As one gains higher levels into the mid teens, it's a good idea to start becoming involved by solving DM run events or at least participating in them and making a name for yourself, because experience tends to fall in combat the stronger you become, until all you receive is experience via an active ticker.

It does cause stagnation, as player advancement tends to peak around level 15. This only drives one to succeed and develop one's character to attain experience through quests, and high level characters (20+) are few, but they also have a lot of history and tales to share.

There's a lot to wander and find, although like many PWs, it's designed as a N, E, S, W from a central starting point, rather than a circle. So you can't be exploring the far northern areas of the world, and circle through areas to end up on the far eastern areas of the world. You have to go back to the central region of the city, and go through the east gate, teleport via magic or find a portal.

Of course, it doesn't distract from the fun here, that's just the builder in me talking and I understand the amount of work it would be just to have all areas connected in this way.

Bonus? There's always players online. Gripe? Half-dragon characters around Corymr and the central city.

I've not seen any new areas outside of player's houses added since I started playing, but tweaks to systems are still done, and a presence of DMs and Admins has not vanished. Despite having plenty of areas to explore, expanding or connecting current areas together, would be nice to see.

FP!

Cormyr Dalelands has moved forums. We are updating the server every few weeks and plan to add a few more dungeons here soon. We have been working on updating the server to make it look a lot better. We still have a very active group of players and DM's. We have a new xp system in place now to try and fix some of the stagnation that Fester Pot spoke of.

I noticed that following your forum link, it requires you to first register an account before you can view the forums. I think this is a bad idea and know from past experiences that it often turns away a good number of casual players looking for someplace new to explore.

- Most folks want to at least see what the rules are and get some background info before they dive right in.

- While it may not be this way here, players that are waiting for a new account to be activated often get fed up and find another PW instead. Many will just assume that all new forums are as finicky as their worst experiences in the past.

- A significant number of folk dislike and avoid ever registering on a Forum also. Some fear getting SPAM Mail, viruses, etc... from it, mainly from overblown fears and ignorance, but still avoid it.

I think posting should require a registered account, but never just glancing at a forum's main page and their Rules & Downloads sections.

I played on this server years back and took a break from many things game related for school purposes.  I returned as there are some friends who have been playing here again lately.  I think there's been a resurgence of players lately as well.

What I really enjoy about this server is the DM attention one gets as well as an admin staff that is all ears.  There are good players who are ready and willing to help with any questions and it is very open for people to discover their own way.  There are some very knowledgeable PCs who are solid on FR setting.  There's plenty of things to do with players and DMs.  The server is expansive with tons of nooks and crannies. FR factions are highly promoted but keep IC consequences in mind.  There's a large number of custom items that are specified to specific levels.

My less favorite things of the server include half-whatevers (ex. fiends) seen on a regular basis.  Even so, that is few and there are certain races that are certainly RP'd as regarded with high suspicion (see drow).  Another touchy thing is the gap between the those with FR lore and those without.  Granted, this is across the board w/ any RP server but the "What a paladin means to me is..." type of thing causes hair to fall out. I guess my point is that some of the players can be silly but I've yet to find any group of perfect people.

Overall it is a very good server. If you like to RP and like to progress a PC's story, I highly recommend checking it out.  Do it.
