That doesn't explain the Warden-Commander from the Circle of Ferelden, who is familiar enough with the Grey Wardens to explain to Levi Dryden that blood magic is condoned by the order in "Warden's Keep," but doesn't provide this as an explanation for Anders' phylactery (or even his own when he questions Anders on whether his own would possibly be inside the warehouse).

The DA:O PC knows that blood magic is condoned by Wardens because she went through the Joining and witnessed Wardens condoning blood magic firsthand.

She doesn't know anything else about Wardens and magic, how would she? Not knowing anything about the Wardens is kind of a theme for DA:O. Even in the beginning of Awakening she's still having to ask Varel and whats-her-face the finance lady about the functioning, organization and guiding principles of the wider organization. The most secret secrets of the order, like for example that killing an Archdemon annihilates your soul, aren't exactly something she has access to at any point. And "by the way the Chantry can't track our mages" seems like something they'd want pretty secret.

The Warden clearly states to Levi Dryden that the Grey Warden mages are not prohibited from using blood magic. There's a difference between knowing about a specific ritual that is conducted through blood magic, and knowing that mages are permitted to use blood magic in offensive and defensive spells if they are Grey Wardens.

If The Warden has the knowledge avaliable to inform Levi Dryden that blood magic is condoned, then he clearly has information about the order. Also, The Warden-Commander asks Varel about the situation in Amaranthine because of the crisis with the darkspawn horde, and asks Mistress Woolsey why the First Warden is interested in the precedence set by the Warden-Commander governing the arling of Amaranthine.

I don't see why anyone in the order would have prevented The Warden from having knowledge about the phylacteries since there are at least six months between the end of Origins and the beginning of Awakening, and it's been stated by the devs that there are a few months between the death of the Archdemon and the royal ceremony where The Warden can request a royal boon from the new ruler of Ferelden.

Also, can warden mages still be forcefully possessed or influenced by actual demons or do they have a stronger resistence or even dominance due to the taint which originates from the black city?

I ask simple because Anders is an abomination, but is virtually in full control and Justice is slowly being overcome by Anders. Otherwise, wouldn't Justice be the one talking all the time instead of Anders?

So technically, would that mean that the demon in Origins gave the Warden Mage the knowledge on how to use blood magic just so the warden could leave the demon alone? Just a thought.

Considering that it would be impossible for the warden commander mage to be missing otherwise I'm inclined to go with the arguement that the taint either completly or at least enough that its almost completly useless in tracking a mage, but the chantry and wardens don't tell their mage recruits, so every mage that wanted freedom wouldn't just volunteer for becoming a warden and then run off after surviving the joining.

Phylacteries being a form of blood magic, used by the templars no less, is something I'm wondering why has yet to come up in game. ;)

I can't see phylacteries as a form of blood magic for the sole reason that templars are able to use them without the assistance of mages. I suspect you don't even need a mage to create a phylactery but a technique that involves the harness of lyrium. I see phylacteries as the form of enchantment of a most personal effect (someone's blood) probably performed by the tranquil mages of the Circle (who could convince a tranquil to betray templar secrets?).

Then again, Wardens are the bad guys, now...

So Bethany or Carver are bad guys if they become Wardens?

Lots of people see the Grey Wardens as freeloaders with the intent of taking over the kingdoms of Thedas. The actions of the First Warden in the Anderfels do little to dispel those suspicions.
