 Hello everyone, I am looking for a head override that can be applied to vanilla NWN HOTU 1.69 that replaces the existing heads with either enhanced versions of the current heads, or simply flavorful replacements on the NWN client that the override is downloaded on. Additionally, I've heard that many of the existing head overrides do not work well with the fat phenotype, so anything avoiding that would be prefereable!

This particular request stems from playing on a great roleplaying server that's been up for a few years that does not use haks, and has only had visual content updates via overrides, so anything interesting you guys could provide for me to look at and forward to the DMs there would be much appreciated!

There are some good hak paks full of heads, and to make them work you need only extract the models and textures, and re-number them. However, bear in mind, if the DM's in your PW haven't already done something about it, it is possible they won't go through the effort. Sure, you can find some plug&play overrides, but they may include heads that are not to your liking, or are actually buggy. The bottom line? You want some quality, you have to work a bit to get it right. I highly recommend the KOTOR heads pack.

Thanks to you both! There was actually someone in our community working on a KOTOR headpack override for the server, but I don't think he ever got around to finishing it. Do you know of a tutorial or how-to guide to creating a head override using some of those great KOTOR heads?

Err, well, I just gave you the tutorial! You need to extract the models and textures from the hak pack where they are included, using the haker tool available in your NWN installation folder, the NWN Viewer available at the vault, or the ever helpful NWN Explorer, also present in the vault. Once you have all the models (mdl) and textures (plt) you should renumber them so they appear at character creation. Since you're using them as a override, they should be renumbered from 29 up, as I believe 28 is the last head model originally included in the game.

Try my unofficial patch, it adds an improved version of DeathFace's heads (which is missing few default heads) along with better hands from kurayriu and doa base item models. + many fixes, more than any previous patch ever brought. Link in my signature.
