I actually prefer the ME1 PC launch trailer to the original ME1 launch trailer.

Could make some nice fan trailers with this....good part starts at about 2 min.

Normandy flybys, etc...good part around 1:30 and beyond

Saving Earth or when/if you get to go take back the Quarian homeworld...good part starts at about 2 min.

Concluding part if you played paragon

This would go good for end creds or a epic space battle.

either way EPIC Music FTW!!!!

Hell yeah, I like them too! Imagine this in a trailer of a planet being ravaged by the Reapers and Shep and co. suddenly decelerating from FTL into a battle with a huge fleet.

TSFH is utterly forgettable. I can never recall what that ME2 trailer song sounds like until I go listen to it, and then I promptly forget it again.

Much as I like CBL, this wouldn't make good trailer music.

You seem to have gotten a lot angrier between the time that I left and came back.

I'm not angry. Just making a statement of fact. If you asked me right now in person to hum the TSFH theme from the ME2 trailer, I'd be at a loss even though I've heard it dozens of times.

It's only a statement of fact if you had said that TSFH is utterly forgettable to you.  I can hum the song right now from the ME2 trailer.

Right, the "well that's just your opinion" argument. Of course it is, one can safely assume that when I say "this music is forgettable" I'm offering an opinion. I don't know why you felt it necessary to point that out. Well, actually I do, it's probably because you're a huge fan of TSFH and don't like seeing ambivalence expressed about their work.

Humorously, I couldn't give two sh*ts about TSFH.  I just wanted to add my opinion about the degree of "forgettableness" into the mix.  And yes, when you state your opinion in an objective manner, other people are allowed to call said objectiveness into question with rhetoric that supports their opinion.  It's this concept called persuasion.  I would say I'm sorry I touched a nerve, but with you it seems like there's nothing out there anyone can say that won't ****** you off or bring out your bitter grumpiness.

To be fair, so would I, but I can hum along to United We Stand, Divided We Fall through the entire song, so I suppose it's just that specific one for me. :D

What's not to like? The ME2 launch trailer is one of very few commercials/trailers to give me chills every time I watch it. (Here are a few others).

lol, that reads about right, I suppose. XD

Ever since I started listening to TSFH I find them in EVERYTHING. I don't watch much TV but it seems whenever I do, their tracks are always playing in the background. Heard one of them on Gametrailers TV during an Arkham City spotlight this evening, in fact.

Heart of Courage is still one of my favs though, thanks to the ME2 trailer.

Still gives me goosebumps. I'm hoping for a ME3 trailer like that.

I second that! :) I like both trailers...maybe they should try to do both kinds! :)

That trailer still makes me feel like a hero who must steel himself for a long, arduous road of justice and duty.

But yes, many of the decisions in ME1 (and especially ME2) were in fact very easy for me to make haha.  Only for a few of them did I actually have to ponder for more than a couple seconds.

*Can't help but be reminded of the 'Insheeption' episode of South Park*

Bioware isn't the only one that uses TSFH, lots of companies use them these days.

The point of TSFH music is not to make you remember the music.

The point is to make you remember the video and dialogue that goes along with the music. I actually agree with Marshal that the music itself is forgettable, but I still think that it remains powerful, within its purpose.

Music is very much tied to emotional response, so I definitely agree that a good score will enhance the emotional experience of a game/film.  Unlike story and dialogue, music can bypass the processing part of the brain and go straight to the most base nature of thought: feeling.  When I watch Lord of the Rings, the music in Moria heightens the tension and action, while the music in Lothlorien amplifies the ethereal and mystical atmosphere.

Some music can do more than just enhance other aspects though, and it can stand on its own as something that's enjoyable to listen to even separated from its source.  I thought the song in the ME2 trailer did that, but everybody engages with different music in different ways.

How did you make your post read like strings with a bass underneath it? That was kinda cool. Must be a forum feature I've not yet read about ^^
