"Can't I just have you both?". Well Shepard paraphrased it but he should have said that.

And watch Ash throw another hissy fit?  <_<

because shepard got greedy and wanted both women. That sounds like a perfectly good thing to get upset about.

Nah she should have just given in.

What are you ten? I believe her walking out on Shepard because she actually has some dignity is not ''throwing a hissy fit''. You're probably a child, or have some serious relationship issues to think otherwise.

I loved how Liara seemed open to it and Ash was all "HELL NO!" haha.

But I say choose Tali. She doesn't spout annoying poetry and her romance is the best in ME2 in my opinion other than Liara in LotSB

Ash's response was so funny.  I remember Ash's hissy fit, but I don't remember what Kaidan says when femShep says the same thing.

I'm almost 44 and have been married for 9 years.

No, she threw a fit.  I laughed.  Kaidan's handled it differently that I don't even remember what he said.  I remember Ash's comments.

How about this....

Do one then the other using a save editor. Problem solved!

There's another choice. Leave Ash on Virmire and get Tali killed in the SM.

or,  just download a savegame from somewhere... no one said that you can have only  one playthrough

mmm... why dont u make a pros and cons list from both characters?

Ash
Pros
- She has something in common with Shepard (both are alliance soldiers, and trainer on Titan).
- She speaks with shepard about his history (she talks to you about your pre-service and your psychological profile)
Cons:
- Horizon.
- She dislikes aliens.

Tali
Pros:
- She is loyal to shepard regardless for who is he working.
- Can't think in any more reason....
Cons:
- The relation is difficult (the enviroment suit).
- The romance doesn't feel serious.

You can still make a longer list. Your choice anyway. Betwen them, I will choose Ash. The main reason would be because Ash is a worthy woman, Tali is just a girl.

I'm amazed people seem to think that 'turning down a threesome' equals 'childish hissy fit'. Yes maybe Ashley was very aggressive and hostile but she had the RIGHT to be aggressive and hostile because Shepard callously remarking 'hey maybe I can get you both in a threesome' is an incredibly infuriatingly obnoxious **** thing to say.
I don't see why she should have to calmly say 'no thank you' to Shepard when he suggests it, I think she is well within her rights to throw a fit. Because Shepard was being a total **** and she is within her rights to point that out and be pissed off at him.

Anyway:
It's entirely subjective and due to personal tastes really, I will by default ALWAYS say Ashley over any other love interest in Mass Effect (though Jack might tie and if I were ever to play female I would be all over Garrus) and I'm sure the Tali fans will ALWAYS, pick Tali over any of the others.
That's the problem with subjective personal opinions, they are all over the place.

As it stands I would argue Ashley because I actually like the idea of:
A. a slow rebuilding of trust as the two characters who were seperated grow to love each other again.
B. Because I like the idea of Shepard just having one singular love interest instead of a new one every new installment. I like my Shepard monogomous.

But of course, again, those are just my opinions of the situation. Maybe some people prefer Shepard to be like James Bond or Indiana Jones, I.E a new girl each installment, making Ashley, Liara, Miranda, Tali, Jack, Kelly and (arguably) Samara into Mass Effect equivilants of the 'Bond Girls'.
I guess if that's how they want to see it, they can go nuts, it's not how I see it but whatever works for them I suppose.

In any case, I'd say stick with Ashley because Ashley is my favorite. But I can't make those decisions for you, decide on your own. My advice is to do multiple playthroughs and imagine that they are different dimensions, something to the effect of:
"Sorry Tali, but my heart still belongs to Ashley. Maybe in an alternate timeline...."
Meanwhile in another dimension.
"Sorry Ashley, we had our time together and it was amazing but we've drifted apart and I can't give you what you need. I'm with Tali now, maybe we can still be together in another life..."
Meanwhile in a third dimension
"Well, it looks like Shepard was blasted in the stomach by a shotgun, then stabbed in the face by a Quarian dagger. Idiot must have suggested a threesome."

Just make 3 Shepards. One for Ashley, one for Tali, one that cheats on Ashley with Tali.

If for some warped reason you could ONLY make one Shepard, this Talimancer says go with Tali....(and of course the Ashmancers will say go Ashley)

but seeing as how I'm pretty sure you CAN make multiple Sheps....do so

What's this only one Shepard thing?  I've never heard of that?  This coming from someone with 11.

Make one for each.  What I did for ME1.  I didn't do the same with ME2, but then I found it very easy to move on from both Ash and Kaidan after Horizon.

Once I found out that Tali was a romance, I created a single Shep just so I could romance her in ME2 without any issues.  That was totally worth it.

Of course most of my Sheps are with Liara.:innocent:

Dem Hips were almost as fanservicey as Miranda's Dat Ass (not that I'm complaining). Whereas Dat Poetry  was BioWare actually giving a character a personality. They could have just stuck Ash as 'Generic Human Space Marine', with the 'Joined up to make Dad proud' schtick being her only facet. Instead, they gave her a hobby, an interest, something that Shepard can either have in common with her or be amused by. Dat Poetry wins, every time.

@V-rex it was the manner in which she went off that to me equals a hissy fit. Kaidan didn't act like that. Which is why I don't remember exactly what he said.

And Liara just stood there. Didn't say anything until Ashley left.

The tali romance felt more serious than the Miranda romance to me, but less so than the jack romance.

However out of all three, Miranda makes the most sense. Not that this has anything to to with the OP but still.

Technically it shouldn't even be "three Shepards" - romance flag is set after "Citadel lockdown". So one endgame save which started with lockers scene finished in romantic way and one endgame save where you repeatedly chose renegade options at lockers so stopped the romance should do the trick.

Of course it requires multiple ME2 playthroughs, but it's not that hard ;)

And, if you're Paragon with many Renegade interrupts, I'd advise to try Jack. But yes, she has some problems.
