I am not sure if I am at the correct forum, but I will post any way. I am stuck on the wayward son quest for DA2. I have gone everywhere that I am suppose to go, but I am still getting the icon that I have a quest action pending in Dark Town. I have gone into Dark Town both day and night, but I am still not able to locate anything that I have missed. I have already given Bartrand the 50 for the Deep Road Expedition, but I am not able to even begin this until I have completed the Wayward son quest. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how did you resolve it.
Thanks.

Did you get the hideout map from Darktown? I seem to recall it is glitched sometimes and does not spawn.

Yes, annoyingly this is a known possible bug.
In Darktown, you should fight a group of slavers led by a mage called Danzig in the bottom right portion of the map. If you have Fenris in your party, he can make the slaver spill the beans on where the boy you are looking for is. Otherwise you have to fight them and get the map location from the looted bodies - or maybe the chest they have. I forget which.
Anyway, for some people the map does not appear in the chest/on the bodies. Annoyingly, the only workarounds are to go back to a previous save and fight them again, or fiddle with the toolset if you're on PC. I don't know what causes this bug, or if it has been fixed by one of the patches, but there we go.

Yes, sometimes if you try to loot the slavers too quickly, the map won't spawn. If that happens, you have to reload an earlier save and redo the fight.
Once you get the map, a new location should display on the Wounded Coast.

Thanks. If I do that then what about the weapons that I have. Will I still be able to get them if I go to an earlier save.

wayward son is about Fenryl an elven mage boy whose mother Arianna lives in the elven alianage at the edge of lowtown. talk to her and the templar. Talk to Samson . Follow the quest and rescue him from the slavers and get him to the Dalish.

jbcollabceo - Some of the items dropped from looted bodies are random. If, for example, you looted a staff from a corpse, and then go back and replay the fight, there is no guarantee you will get the staff again. All items at merchants, however, will be the same.

I can't even get that far. I get to dark town and as soon as i get close to
Danzig, the game just freezes up. I'm in agreement with so many about the fact that they really dropped the ball with all these glitches. don't they pay people to sort these out? Why do we have to pay for the game and then help fix their mistakes later?
