I have uninstalled and re-installed the game and still having the same problem. I owned this game on the XBox 360 and completed it but sold it. I wanted to play the game again and decided to get the PC version as I have a new PC and this game was bought for me brand new as a gift. Has anyone else had this issue with the main menu? Please help!!

Hi, I have installed teh game with no problems. The game loads up fine to the main menu screen and then it won't allow me to click on anything. The music is playing and the mouse pointer is moving around fine but when I move the pointer over anything like "New Game" or "Options", they don't highlight and when I click on them, nothing happens.

I have only had a delay in reaction to my clicks in the menu ... but nothing that stopped me from playing. Hope that you get it resolved soon ... DA2 on the PC is the best!!

My system specs are very high it's a new machine. I can't put them all on here at the moment but let's put it this way, this PC runs "The Witcher 2" perfectly and you need a powerful high performance PC to run that game well

Every PC Tech forum on this site includes similar problem reporting requirements. Failing to take those into account is how to avoid getting good answers. The very few components mentioned here by SSV are merely the tip of the iceberg.SSV Enterprise wrote...

Preliminary diagnostic information
First, however, what have you learned using the forum's archives?
After failing to learn anything substantive that way, since PCs are not *anything* at all like game console systems, it adds another dimension to a question. That may not be news to you, but many new arrivals come here for help who have no such idea at all. There is literally almost nothing that is truly a "standard" between various branded PCs, making the game developers' jobs very difficult, and requiring that warning labels be attached to game boxes for any games with serious requirements.
Because most of the new arrivals, and even many of the more experienced gamers as well, will have have misunderstood how to evaluate their PC compared to that game box warning label, we have to start from here. Please fill it all in.

Ok I can clarify this a little better. The actual problem is that the mouse pointer is off sync to the menu. To highlight an option on the menu, the mouse pointer has to be moved all the way to the right hand side of the screen but does not allow me to select the quit option or select the Male or Female Rogues on the hero selct screen. How can I make the mouse accurate to the game?

Get rid of any "Window Theme" effects that add animation to the pointer, such as "Mouse Trails".

Since you chose to abbreviate your problem report, omitting a great deal, there's much less opportunity for anyone to see any problems for you.

You may want to try changing screen resolution and aspects to see if it makes a difference.

Sorry but I don't see how I have abbreviated anything. I have explained all I know and I have stated my system specs. Also this PC is new, only a few weeks old and plays practically any game. I have tried all screen resolutions etc but it still stays the same. The only issue is that the mouse pointer isn't highlighting anything on the game menus and character select screen when it is placed over them, you have to move the mouse pointer to the very right hand side of the screen but it does not allow you to select "OK" or "Cancel" nor does it allow you to select Rogue characters.

It is going to be a program interference in your game, ie another program you are running somewhere in the background that is causing the issue.
1) Asus video card background programs are known issues.
2) Pointer programs can cause issues, or anything that would modify the basic Win7 routines for pointers/mouse.
3) Forcing AA or anything in the Catalyst menu can cause issues in game.
4) Video Driver NOT created directly by AMD, but is instead a "house" brand driver.
These are just some off the top of my head.
As far a abbreviated report, you list no drivers, or name brands on anything, including your mouse with is in direct relation to the issue. You also didn't list all what you have tried...such as changing the aspect ratios and screen resolutions.

I listed the names above of the makers of my graphics card and my processor etc. I don't have anything running in the background that i'm aware of

You listed the chipset of your graphics card, the make would be Sapphire, MSI, Asus, EVGA, and XFX just to name a few, all of which love to add little programs to "make things better". Also your brand of computer may also have added some stuff to the mix, like if it is a Dell or Alien.
ALL COMPUTERS ARE RUNNING THINGS IN THE BACKGROUND!! True some things are actually needed to make the machine work, but many are just little bs programs that add "neat" things that take up processor and memory while being "neat" or "cool".
Also you haven't mentioned the game revision, which should be 1.03 if you have installed the latest patch.... which if you haven't would be found here.... http://social.biowar...ge/da2-patches. You also haven't mentioned which catalyst number you are running for video driver, or when the driver was even produced or by who.
By the way if you don't believe me about programs in the background, then open the task monitor and look at all the processes running, each is a program your computer is running while you are unaware they are there in most cases.

I have resolved this issue now. Thanks anyway. All I had to do was change the text size to 125% in Windows and it sorted it.
