Mod Recs

Just completed a playthru of BG2 as a Elven Sorcerer (that I ported from BG1) all the way thru to the end of ToB wtih only a few mods installed.
Bg2 Fixpack, Bg2 Tweakpack, Amaurea's portraits pack, Nathaniel, Kelsey, Solaufein, Sarah, the Keychain mod, the Skip Irenicus' Dungeon mod, Spellhold Studios soundsets mod, 1 Pixel Productions Paperdoll/Avatar mod, and Moinesse's Avatar mod.
Tried Sword Coast Stratagems in both BG 1 (Tutu) and BG 2; and frankly it was too frickin hard lol. I struggled on Novice where normally I can play on "Core Rules" difficulty level without that mod.
So I am beginning another playthru as a paladin (not ported) and I was thinking what would be good mods to download and install; running a google search doesnt seem to help and neither did looking in the forums of the popular modding sites to find Mod Rec lists which I have come to expect in modding communities (I see it in Fallout/Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age amongst others all the time).
So I am here to ask because BSN is a fairly benign/safe community (Chosen of Mystra looks almost as scary as the Dark Lord Potter forums).
Would like recs for good well written/well executed mods for BG 2.
Please dont point me to the Infinity Engine Modlist because thats just a fairly generic mod listing that doesnt have a whole lot of information to hand on the list, and isnt really all that helpful in helping people pick mods to install.
I am most interested in any "third way" mods that introduce a third "good" path way to get to spellhold, but also any good NPCs, or kit mods, or other misc mods that are done well.
Thanks folks.

Essential mods for me have to be: Sword & Fist, Song & Silence, Rogue Rebalancing, Item Revisions, Spell Revisions, Unfinished Business and Level 1 NPCs.
I'm somewhat of a mod snob, so I only like mods that blend seamlessly with the original game. For example the Solaufein mod was terrible in my opinion, really ruined the game for me, especially since I waited all the way until the Underdark for him.
Sword & Fist is a kit mod for Fighters that also overhauls the Monk class, currently I have Valygar as this modified Monk class and it's great fun.
Song & Silence is a kit for Thieves and Bards and adds in some brilliant classes on both ends, Sharpshooter - Thief kit that allows grand master in bows, obviously with penalties elsewhere to balance it out, Gypsy - Bard kit where the song charms people into fighting alongside you.
Rogue Rebalancing does what it says, it alters the current Thief kits quite a bit, but for the better (note that none of the mods I have installed make the game easier, if anything they make it 'truer').
Item Revisions is possibly my all time favourite, in a nutshell it alters almost every single item in the game, which is great if you've played the game a few times before, your next play through will be very different. For example the ring of human influence no longer sets the characters Charisma to 18, it simply adds an additional 2 points, this also goes for the gauntles of Ogre strength, like I said earlier, the mods make the game 'truer'.
Spell Revisions is also one of my favourites and revises all spells in the game, while adding new ones as well. Matching them somewhat closer to their 2e counterparts, but also makes spells that were previously useless bar one specific situation incredibly useful all the time. No longer will you be packing nothing but Magic Missile as your level 1 mage spell. The spell Knock for example still opens locked chests, doors, whatever, but it can also be used on hostile targets, flinging them across the room.
Unfinished Business is really intriguing, it basically pieces together the fragments of left out quests and items left by Bioware and then reassembles them into quests that were cut before release. The developers of the mod have done it in such a good way the quests aren't noticeable as modded content, I suppose because about 60% of the quest was originally written by Bioware themselves.
And Level 1 NPCs is what keeps this game fresh for me. It allows you to change the class and stats of any of the NPCs in the game (although I don't edit the stats). For example, in my current play through I have Minsc as a Cavalier, Valygar as a Monk, Haer'Dalis as a Swashbuckler, Nalia as a Fighter dualled Illusionist, and Viconia as a Cleric/Necromancer.

Lol.
How so?
I found him decently written - the only thing that bothered me about him was his Drow paperdoll (the drow paperdolls r kinda broken in this game) and the fact that game seemed to recognise him as a player character as apposed to an NPC mechanics wise (hit the customise button on him and you can alter everything instead of just scripts).
He could use a bit of fleshing out and updating I confess but I certainly enjoyed playing him a LOT better than I enjoyed playing with Saerileth for example (now theres a train wreck of a mod).

Only thing I am wary of is breaking the tweak pack with these. I presume they dont?

Sound's pretty fun this one heh.

None of them break the Tweak Pack, I have that installed too, just make sure you install it after all of them. I can send you my WeiDU log if you like?

I agree he needs tweaking though.
Saerileth is 14/15 and falls in love with the PC at first sight. The whole romance/quest line for her makes zero sense, its badly written, and badly executed IMO. For example if you dismiss her she is just gone, forever and thats that. You cant not speak to her if you go to the Radiant Heart so you either have to avoid the whole Radiant Heart quests entirely or pick her up (or not so she then dissapears).
Check out the Lets Play Archive for the LP of Baldur's Gate 2 there; the guy who did it had Saerileth installed, and he showcases very nicely how mental the mod is.
Downloaded and installed the kitpacks you recced. Didnt install Rogue Rebalance because Song and Silence says that it is based on RR and is intended as a replacement (though they arent incompatible).
Not sure about UB though.

Song & Silence adds new Thief and Bard items, alters the current classes slightly as well as adding new kits.
Rogue Rebalancing modifies the Swashbuckler, Assassin, Bounty Hunter, Blade, Skald and Jester kits, allows Thieves and Bard three stars in two-weapon fighting, revises thievery (make pickpocketing less annoying), changes the Bard spell book, alters Thief and Bard HLAs and also adds new Thief and Bard items into the game.
In my opinion they compliment one another, and if you install Rogue Rebalancing after Song & Silence it'll just override the same components, causing no bugs.
Unfinished Business is great, have you read the readme?

There is no palatable option for Lawful or Good characters... Any mods that add such a way?
