We are very pleased to announce the next Dragon Age II story based DLC, Mark of the Assassin!

Hawke meets a mysterious female Elvin assassin named Tallis, voiced by the talented Felicia Day, and joins her to steal an ancient relic from an Orlesian Baron in his well-guarded estate. A cross between Varric and Isabela, Tallis is a rogue who introduces a new fighting style to add more variety in combat. Get up close and personal with her deadly skills or stand back and pick off enemies with her ranged combat abilities.

Mark of the Assassin features new items, new enemies and monsters and new environments as well as giving players the opportunity to experience a new, tactical way to play with the return of Stealth gameplay. Plus, along with the new environments and monsters, you will learn more about the Orlesians and Qunari.

Mark of the Assassin will be available for download on the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on October 11 for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft points.

To your question, Eno, Tallis is only available as a follower during Mark of the Assassin, not for the entirety of the game.

Felicia ended up doing a lot of her own mocap, so some of the mannerisms her character has in Redemption should be showing up in conversation and cinematics for MotA.

Much like Legacy, your companions will return, and once again they will be fully voiced.

Any hint as to which companions might have the most to say? Obviously Anders, Varric and the sibling contributed the most to Legacy.

Well, let's ask this: does anyone in your party have a connection to Orlais, or to the Qunari in some manner?

Question about the "return" of stealth gameplay - does this mean actually sneaking by foes?

Yus. It's a different approach than we've taken before, and it is optional (not everyone likes the sneaking). It's also fairly simple, since we're constrained by what we can do with a DLC, but it will be interesting to get feedback on it and see if people would like us to push it further, or tweak.

Please tell me that the inclusion of Felica isn't leading to the absence of the other squaddies. The return of the VA's for all the other party members was really what made Legacy the new standard for all Bioware DLC in my mind.

Ahem.

Hope that addresses your concern.

It's cool to see you guys experimenting with new concepts in DLC. And it's even cooler to see those concepts mature and develop into future games.

That's the plan!

Must say, I approve. More variety of gameplay options is always nice, however... will those who've taken the stealth route end up with less experience and loot from the one who decides to massacre everybody?

I believe they are roughly equivalent, but different. You don't sneak past the same guys you would fight; it's kind of a neat setup. But still, early stages of bringing back objective-based, and optional stealth to get some of that "rogue" feel back. Definitely have some longer-term plans.

Definitely cannot talk about them ;)

Ooh, looks good. While part of me's bummed she'll be taking up a companion slot I'd rather reserve for the companions I already know and love, the rest of me's excited that those same companions are still fully voiced and have a part to play. And that's the most times anyone's said "companion" in a single sentence, I think. Anyway, looks really intriguing, and sadly almost a month away.

I think you'll find that Tallis fits into the party in a pretty natural way, and - while some will no doubt lament the lack of the third party member that they're so used to - she's got a lot of personality and ends up involved in some of the best banter I've heard yet.

Does this make "companion" the new iconic?
Do Bioware fans love their catchphrases as much as the devs?

STAY TUNED!

;)

(On topic: it was a pleasure to have the followers back for MotA. Better still (and surprised no one has asked), yeah, the siblings are back too. Less focus on them this time, but if you want Carver or Bethany along, we have arranged that for you.)

Is this post-campaign or anytime during the campaign or a set time during the campaign?

Like Legacy, you can play it anytime after you've gained access to your or Gamlen's house.

Looks like Hawke's doin' some more heavy-metal, upper-floor decorating!

As with Legacy, it happens (chronologically) around when you end up playing it during the campaign. There are some differences based on when you choose to play it (as well as based on some of the decisions you made during the campaign), especially in a couple of key places, but it's meant to be playable whenever you choose.

The usual suspects, minus Jennifer, who's on leave.

Quick question: will the stealth sections still be playable if we don't have a rogue!Hawke? Or is that a feature only for that specific class?

Yes, though longer-term we might limit stealth to "a rogue in your party." More class-specific content is good.

Is Hawke going to have to fight a helicopter gunship? This is kind of a dealbreaker.

9 out of ten dentists consider this to be exceedingly unlikely. The tenth dentist was too busy switching to controller port 2 while being taunted by a psychic boss to comment.

Well I'm pleased to hear the stealth portions will be accessible to everyone, though I'm intrigued about the prospect of class-specific pathways in DLC. Of course, this means you'll have to do something for mages, right? Like a situation that can only be solved by setting something on fire. ;)

Longer-term, probably.

Constructive criticism and discussing your feelings (whether positive or negative) on the impending DLC are one thing.

Pointless one-liners are another. If you aren't interested in discussing the DLC, please leave the thread to those who are, thank you.

What i heard sounded very promising, though i was slightly disappointed there won't be dancing(Isabela on the dance floor might have caused uproar though).

I've long argued for a dance off. I think David's on board, too, so someday... someday...

The trailer made it sound similar to kasumi to me.

I thought the same.  I adore Kasumi, but I'm not sure I want to play it again with an elf :P

This is something that came up during MotA's development, and while they look the same on the surface, the resemblance is really only superficial. They feel like vastly different pieces of content, aside from the general 'heist' theme and mingling at the party.

I think it's some of our finest DLC work yet. But then, I may be slightly biased.
