Would it make much sense if DLC Tallis looked dramatically different from Redemption Tallis?
No, but what Brock is trying to say is that the characters often times look too much like the actors that voice them, to the disadvantage of the graphics engine.
Right. The great thing with video games (as I see it anyway) is that you can create things that don't exist. So just modeling a character after the face of the voice actor often seems uninspired. Especially when its rare given present technology that the voice actor's face will end up looking good and not just awkwardly stuck in the Uncanny Valley.
Unless you have a tip top engine that can surpass the Uncanny Valley in terms of facial animations and just rendering of faces, I think its better to dissociate voice actors' likeness from their in game character. Maybe use elements of the voice actor's look, but not necessarily attempting a 1:1 representation.

It's easy for a person to make a video game character with their own look before they appear in any real life adaptation. But when you see a real life version of a character, chances are you may find that the voice and the look of the character do not mesh well together.
Now, they could work with Felicia to find a look that works well, but there aren't any guarantees that one can be found.
Fair enough- Its more to the point that I don't have any interest in the web series, so from my POV why saddle the video game with the limitations of a real life web series? Continuity and all that- I get it.

I wish Hawke could use it. :/
It looks like a mini-crossbow. I'm wondering if it might be built into his armor?
I doubt it. It looked like he was grabbing it from his back.

I agree with this. I personally didn't get into Miranda in ME2 having the looks and voice of the actual actress (Yvonne Strahovsky), though she's fairly well known, but I got used to that. Voice is fine, but I like originality in the creating character looks from scratch. OTH, I personally think Felicia is not a good voice actor, though I think she's has some overall talent when combining her assets as a whole. Just hearing what little dialogue of her in the promo video, didn't leave a good first impression for me, IMO.

What i heard sounded very promising, though i was slightly disappointed there won't be dancing(Isabela on the dance floor might have caused uproar though).
I've long argued for a dance off. I think David's on board, too, so someday... someday...

Carver: I came back as soon as I could. The Wardens really needed me but your letter said it was urgent, what is it?
Hawke: We're robbing an Orlesian noble.
See, I find that hilarious in a good way. Because sarcastic Hawke would totally do that to Carver.

This is why we won't be telling Carver.

(And, I really liked what he had to say at the end of Legacy, Act 2.)
Despite the fact that having no Aveline meant I was getting my ass kicked, I had to take him along for Legacy. I might have to do the same for this one.

Honestly, the Uncanny Valley isn't nearly as bad as in Miranda's case (which IMHO also suffered from black hair not suiting the face) and if that's the base looks-wise for elves going forward, I can definitely dig that.

and my reason for this is ... Felicia Day sooooo overrated
and never liked her anyways

Overrated or not, Felicia Day is probably one of the geekest and popular female geeks I know. At least give her some credits for that.

No doubt, I wish Crossbows would make a comeback lol. And this time, actually work? Only reason I never used them in Origins is because they were just flat out broken, and not in the "zomg they're overpowered" kind of way either.

Speaking of crossbows my character in origins was using one of those, in DA3 or in this dlc you might be using a modified single handed crossbow that you might use.
that would be soooooo nerdgasm

I'm fine with modelling the face after the VA as long as the VA is an actor who doesn't always use the same voice. Felicia Day in this sounds like Felicia day in every other thing she does.
With Tallis having Felicia's red hair, non-Welsh or Irish accent, and more "human" looks than the other elves, I would love the option to have Hawke accuse Tallis of being a human in disguise.
I didn't mind the Strahovski/Miranda thing as much because Yvonne Strahovski is an actress who varies what voice she uses. For ME2 she was asked to speak with her native Australian accent, which differentiates her from the voice she uses for the character (Sarah Walker) that the majority of the world knows her for (along with the black hair). It just never seemed as shoehorned.
I am very much looking forward to how Isabella reacts to this situation. I'm curious about her dealings with the Qunari.
