I thought the same.  I adore Kasumi, but I'm not sure I want to play it again with an elf :P

Apparently you're not the only ones to think so.  But all we have to go by is a summary and a trailer so I'm willing to wait and see.  But if it turns out to be a Kasumi copy then feel free to come back and say, "I told you so."

Watch, when you break into the vault to steal it there will be some statues and artworks you can look at and get some party banter on. One of them will probably be labeled "Creature" and it will be the Krogan statue from ME, similar to how there was a Dragon Age Origin Ogre in Kasumi's dlc.

Somehow i won't be surprised if this would happen lol
i'm not so sure if this is worth getting
and i guess miss Day needs to make up her mind on who she wants to be
since in the first trailers for the webseries  her character  seems to be a weak Morrigan / Velana  copy (rip-off)
and now she wants to be  a even worse Kasumi /  Leliana  Clone no thank you just make up your mind first
whats next, Felicia Day in ME3??? Dear maker help us
just continue Hawkes story or continue the Flemeth / Morrigan story
this sounds more like a stand alone like Lelianas song or the Terrible Darkspawn cronicles and has nothing even remotely related to the Hawkes as far as i can tell now... in my opinion its just an other stranger who has a quest for you ...

No-one is forcing anything on you. Not even to buy the DLC.

Never said that anyone forces me to buy it. I was discusing gameplay. I meant that the game, for itself, forces you to replay because an imposed companion if you want all the banter. And that, to my eyes, is a bad gameplay decision (as it is when Origins or DA2 main plot imposes companions)

But maybe I'm giving a bad meaning to "force" xD Sorry, I do what I can with my english skills ^_^

"Stay tuned September 18th for more details!" (website DA2)
Have I missed something or there were no "more details" yet?

This is something that came up during MotA's development, and while they look the same on the surface, the resemblance is really only superficial. They feel like vastly different pieces of content, aside from the general 'heist' theme and mingling at the party.

I think it's some of our finest DLC work yet. But then, I may be slightly biased.

The video (which most of you have already seen on Gametrailers or YouTube) was embargoed frm being shown on our site. We're adding it to the page for those who haven't seen it yet.

Does it have new music like Leliana's Song and Lair of the Shadow Broker?

I will grant that "heist" DLC seems obligatory nowadays. I'm hard pressed to think of any RPG besides ME1 that didn't involve some kind of heist DLC if significant DLC was involved. You've got Operation Anchorage, Leliana's Song, LotSB, Dead Money, then this.

Ahem... wasn't sure where to post it, but... the main page of the official site contains today's update on Mark of the Assassin with the description of Legacy DLC. Hope someone who can fix that reads this thread...

(I'm assuming the story adjusts similarly based on that.)

We are very pleased to announce the next Dragon Age II story based DLC, Mark of the Assassin!

Hawke meets a mysterious female Elvin assassin named Tallis, voiced by the talented Felicia Day, and joins her to steal an ancient relic from an Orlesian Baron in his well-guarded estate. A cross between Varric and Isabela, Tallis is a rogue who introduces a new fighting style to add more variety in combat. Get up close and personal with her deadly skills or stand back and pick off enemies with her ranged combat abilities.

Mark of the Assassin features new items, new enemies and monsters and new environments as well as giving players the opportunity to experience a new, tactical way to play with the return of Stealth gameplay. Plus, along with the new environments and monsters, you will learn more about the Orlesians and Qunari.

Mark of the Assassin will be available for download on the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on October 11 for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft points.

Quote from DLC description on main site:

" With Tallis at your side, you must Infiltrate an Orlesian estate outside Kirkwall and steal a precious relic. "

Very interesting, this does not actually take place in Orlais, but at an estate outside Kirkwall.
So this is what, like an Orlesian settlement of sorts? Because Orlais is a long way from Kirkwall...

The estate has the style of an Orlesian settlement. Basically, some Orlesian lord moved there but kept the style to feel at home. You know how finiky Orlesians are. Gotta be all fancy and civil.
