Just curious to see what people named their Shep.

I named him Alan Shepard after the naval aviator and astronaut Alan Shepard.  In 1961 Alan Shepard became the second man, and first American, in space.  Ten years later he commanded Apollo 14 and became the fifth man to walk on the moon.

I found it a fitting name and I'm pretty sure that Shepard's last names was named after him.

'Chase' for my dude...Why?...cos I'm a girl and I think it's a very nice name....^_^

Am about to make a second Shep....'Jack'...as he will be as firmly based on Captain Jack Harkness as I can manage.

I change her name a lot, but my main Shepard is usually called Nora or Kamala.

Manshep is named Yorick.

I have a third crack-Shep named Penny, after my chihuahua. She rolls pure renegade.

Any reflection on the dog?....:P

Luckily, I have max paragon so I have her well trained. But she's a little monster when you let her be. Just murdered her stuffed ladybug. For insubordination, I imagine.

I'm lazy when it comes to in game names, started off with default then got more into it and end up using my favourite tv sci-fi characters.

Femshep: Susan - From Babylon 5 - Susan Ivanova
Posted Image

John Shepard>John Sheridan *Default name lol*- Babylon 5
Posted Image

Only played the male shep once and that was very monotone, since I'm female I play femshep now and forever.

ME has so many similarities with B5 I love it. ^_^

3/5 of my femShep are names after Star Wars. One is after DA2 along with one of my Shepards.

I have 10 total different Shepards, Well 11. One is KIA during the SM and isn't able for import.

I have the following:
femShep:

well... you asked for it.

Leah... cause I keep trying to play a self insert.
Simone.. I wanted a sort of femme fatale femshep and Simone sounded like a vampy name
Maya .. Indira Varma's character in Kama sutra, the love story.

the rest of the Shepards all have names starting with letter J

Jill - cause it sounded nice
Jewel - the other half of my nickname, I was running low on imagination that day
Johari - valuable, jewel in sanscrit (different baby name sites give different meanings)
Jade... after a gemstone, and she's japanese
Jubilee - marvel character, but that shep is a polar opposite of the character whose name she uses
Judith.. - it felt like a nice, old fashioned name, fit her persona
Jaqcui - apparently, it means imposter, I thought it was a fitting name considering I used Leah's original ME1 import for her as well as face, as a base design.
Julia...Childs...except femshep is nothing like her, I was just the name that occurred to me when trying to name yet another femshep

Jean Luc - Picard. oh yes.
Jeremy, Joshua, Justin - all got their names cause I liked the way they sounded
there also used to be James... as in James bond, womanizer ... and failure extraordinaire, and Jensen- nice quiet guy, so unlike the characters played by the actor whose name (and face) he was inspired by. But these 2 have been retired

I might have a Shepard problem

And here I thought I had too many.  Well done.  Plan in importing all of them?  I am.

Jakarta: She's a Spacer baby, and her parents were not creative people, so the only thing they could think of was to name her like she was a ship. Hence, after the city of her grandmother's birth.

Varick: I wanted something with a bit of a sharp, harsh sound, and the meaning was appropriate. I considered renaming her when DA2 came out and sort of weirded that name for me (and also because I still have no idea why a female Egyptian Shepard has a male German name), but it was too late, she was indelibly a Varick.

Serenity is named with deliberate irony, because she's an angry ball of slightly xenophobic trauma.

Kuan Yin is named for a god of compassion, because she's my stupidly blue kneejerk Paragon.

I'll spare you the rest of them, as those are the four I use most, and there are a lot.

Most likely, yes.  I also have 3 more femsheps (4 if you count the one I designed to give face to an RP character) I may or may not use at some point - Jemma, Jesse, Joanna and Renata.  did I mention I had a Shepard problem? O_O  I may enjoy that character creator a little too much

MaleShep-Dominique. Sounds so badass
FemShep-Kate. Couldn't think of anything. I'll make another FemShep file and name her Joanna Dark Shepard.

I have 11, so who am I to talk.  And if ME3 is as good as I think it will be, I see me creating a few more.  Names, I have no idea.  I too plan on importing all of them.  My canon femShep more than once.  I wrote down in a note book which files to use by date.  I have over 20 playthroughs and 11 with canon femShep.  I really like how she looks, so I use her the  most.

1.) Lunestra because.....I was staring at the name input screen for like an hour and I made her look exotic so she needed an equally uncommon name...so yea...

2.) Ivan....because that's my name

3.) Isabella..........because why not

4.) John.......because he's Sheploo

5.) Scarlet....because she's a redhead with red lipstick and red armor (and she 'manced Liara for the whole Red vs. Blue thing)

6.) Alistair..........because he was originally supposed to look like Alistair from DA:O......but I derped hard..... so I instead made him look like a big gruff black guy

7.) Ganon......because this is my Worst Possible Playthrough run......and I (tried) to make him look like Ganondorf

8.) Shera..........because why not

9.) Nailah......because I was going for an African sounding name

10.) Ninotchka........because I like the name

11.) Kenzin...........because why not

12.) Alexander.........because why not

13.) Ishizu.........because shut up

My main Shep is Erin because I wanted a unisex name and I could hear my parents in the other room watching The Waltons and one of the daughters in that show had that name. (Oh, I'm so creative. /sarcasm)

My pure paragon and renegade Sheps have the default names, Jane and John respectively, because I knew I wouldn't bother defining their characters and therefore didn't care what their names were.

I've just begun another femShep named Reagan after the little girl in The Exorcist.(And yes, I know it's spelled Regan in the movie but meh.)

My first Shepard was named Jeanne for Joan of Arc, plus Jean Grey (she's a red head too!)

My "main" Shepard is named Gwendolyn for an old friend, she's totally uptight and strait-laced, but also a good person, very intelligent and excels at what she does. I wanted a character like her.

My renegade Shepard was named Jayna, a variation on Jaina, for Jaina Solo and Jaina Proudmoore. I often have at least one character named Jaina or Jayna in games.

Vivian Sheperd- No reason. I needed a name, and I like it.

Jermaine Sheperd - lol. Punny stuff there. Wish it was default.

Jill Sheperd - She was a Sentinel and she was also the master of unlocking... Crates. Then in ME2 she got blonde hair for some reason despite the fact that her hair was originally brown.

Commander Sheperd - Because. It's funny when he's all like "I'm Commander Sheperd." It's now his actual name instead. Silly Quarians got it wrong though when they called him 'Captain Sheperd.'

I think that's all I have.

FemSoldier: Rowena. I was taking a literature course and we read a lot of King Arthur-related medieval stuff. Might change it later. Not sure if I like it anymore.

BroSoldier: Braxton. I reference American Civil War generals when I'm looking for cool-ass names. As far as I can tell, Braxton Bragg was a total douche, but that's okay, because so is Braxton Shepard.

Femfiltrator: Joanna. It's actually the name my dad wanted to give me, but my mom wanted something completely different--Darcy. They struck a deal eventually, but I still use their "backup" names for my shameless self-inserts.

Brofiltrator: Malcom. It rings of slightly nerdy badass.

Femgineer: Alex. I like girls' names that sound like boys' names lol?

Mangineer: Bradley. I really don't know where the hell this one came from. I guess I just kind of liked it. Makes me think of pretty, jocky boys. And Bradley Shepard is not.

FemSentinel: Madison. There was this really cute girl I used to babysit for. Named a Shep after her. Also, Wisconsin REPRESENT.

BroSentinel: Ezekiel. I'm playing him like Space Jesus, so I figured I'd roll something biblical. Also, "Zeke" just sounds cool. Got a very techie feel.

Femguard: Anabelle. I was going to Mary-Sue it up hard on this one, my "perfect" playthrough, so I thought I'd give her a really pretty name. Note, it could also be the name of a cow.

Manguard: Dick. Because he is one.

Femdept: HotWings. Looooong story.

Brodept: Freddie. Because if Freddie Mercury is going to save the galaxy, he'll do it with Space Magic.

I'm unsure I just picked an original name? I have many Sheps but have a main.
