I'm not happy with this at all. I'm used to mandatory massive mammaries and I fear change. I'll be writing Capcom a letter.

You win. :wizard:

So this is a JRPG, called Dragon's Dogma?! I wondered what have you been talking about all this long!

Got to do better than that, Capcom.

Honestly though, body customization, wouldn't mind that in the character creators of certain other RPG series'..

I'd say that's more realistic for character creation instead of just face modeling. You get to customize how their body looks too. Small chest, medium size chest, large chest. hip sizes too and probably musculature. Which is interesting.

LOL did one of those sliders seem to make your character bow-legged or knock-kneed?

happy_daiz wrote...

I didn't realize Dragon's Dogma was PS3 and XBox only. Interesting.

Yep, it looks interesting, but not something that would persuade me to spend money to buy a console.

Hmm first time I've seen the game in action.
Looks good IMO and the action looks badass but too soon to say anything else.

As for the boob sliders did no one play Dead or Alive? You put in your age and the older you are the bigger there boobs get. Max it at 99 and its rediculous. I did it for the lulz honestly because at that point they don't even look realistic and they have to be realistic to the body the woman has or its a HUGE turn off.
This is a nice step in the right direction having a say in what your body looks instead of just the face is very much welcome.

The ability to enlarge your character's breasts? Really?

Because:

1. Breasts are not part of the human psyche

2. Body image is not important to roleplay

3. Boobs are not lovely lovely things

4. Breasts are DIRTY, people should be ashamed of having them or showing them because female sexuality is DISGUSTING I tell you!

5. Breasts also represent breast feeding, a wonderful wholesome thing that reduces infant mortality rates and makes everyone smile, and nobody wants to see those things happen!

Oh wait, none of those things.

Yeah...news flash, most JRPGs dumped turn based gameplay a few years back.

Huge breasts and half naked characters are used to sell games better for those lusty teenagers. Witcher 2 did it. At first, I was hearing about how this game would appeal to MEN and WOMEN, NOT teenagers. They were boasting about the tactics needed in combat, the RPG elements and how there's many ways to take down enemies and now we see features implemented that look like children put them in.

Click

"I think this is something that will appeal to men and women because you’re using your brain to takedown enemies in this game."

I've nothing against breasts or sexuality being displayed in games but in games set in the past trying to be based off of realistic cultures? No. You didn't have nude women running about in medieval England nor did you have nude men and if this game allows you to enlarge your character's bulge in their pants and their ass size, I will seriously laugh my head off and create an ugly character and make him/her look all cool as he jumps upon giants and starts attacking them.

****** ****** ******.

Seriously though, I'm okay with the breast enlargement as it allows you to create unique looking characters in body apperance but when I see men and women running about with their ass showing...I get put off. They should save that for their future type games.

Nudity doesn't protect you in combat unless...well, I'll stop there.

You do know the Pects and some African groups went into battle naked correct? And the Roman Armor was primairly center on chest protection and the head, with legs and arms being awefully exposed. And that most modest coverings in england at that age had more to do with the culture and landscape than protection, nevermind a game based on realism in that period would suck ass.

Far more likely to die from some sickness or another, and your armor *unless your from a rich house or an officer* will either be a shirt, leather, or chainmail. Which they were all pratically useless,, versus well, damn near everything. And also if your Arm was broke, unless you were lucky enough to live in the East, Western powers too oh...a few hundred damn years to figure out that doesn't mean we have to cut the arm off and watch you die half the time.

Not that I dissagree, just stating around that time period and earlier, hell even today, most soldiers had sub-standard protection, and if you want to get real historical depending on location and time period women did go topless in some regions. Such as if you made a game in Acient Crete every woman would nearly be naked minus the waist. And as I said with some cultures they had a mindset that "Armor is for ******" or at least alot of Armor. Or in some cases could not buy it or had very little, like Egypt.

In fact in Liberia in its recent Civil war you had a tribal faction who I **** you not, went to battle naked with AK's and covered in Cocaine, and that scared the **** out of most of who fought them. I mean I would think twice on fighting a naked guy with an AK on a coke rage.

Though I do look for well somewhat fuctional armor, I'm not going to set back and demand and RPG with 100% perfect era armor, never mind this game is not set in England to begin with, and we know next to nothing on it. I mean for all we know in the next trailer you might see a guy that looks like a Roman, another like a Germanic knight, and a Samurai.

They said DD was influenced by LOTR which is said (by Tolkien) to be set in the past of this world and Middle Earth is obviously Europe. Europe peasant soldiers had terrible armor but you had Knights who wore full sets of plate armor to protect them but none ran into battle nude and nudity was even frowned upon.

I was joking in my OP. I have no problems with the breast enlargement but don't see why it's needed either. Divinity 2 had a very limited character creator but that didn't stop the game from being a good RPG in my opinion. I'd rather Capcom focus on the gameplay more...with that being said, the individual walks and postures do sound interesting and I suppose breast size decrease or increase along with hips, shoulders and chest all just make the customization even more depthful. Ah so what the Hell. Let them do it. I personally will try to create a unique looking character but I don't spend hours in CC and after seeing the gameplay...I suppose they can add all the extra detail to the other places.

Click

I mean...that does sound deep. Adding moles onto the character and bending their backs...if you want to create such a character that has a bent back and can hardly walk...why not?

Now that we know that romances are included (including same-sex romances...same sex is good, if your partner doesn't want the same sex as you do, then sex will be bad lol!), I think it's clear to say that Dragon Age has been quite an influence on this game.

Well you could make an elderly Wizard?

And yeah I can see what you mean from that reguard, but, lets face it some nobody adventurer, would he or she have a full set of Armor?

As to the game being influenced...well not the same as being based or set in. Hell look at the Film Saving Private Ryan. Its a movie with Rangers orderd to save a private. In real life what it was influenced by, a Chapian who got the Germans to let him take an injured soldier to allied lines.

Now thats one hell of an influenced change. So they might do the same. And I wouldn't say Middle Earth is Obviously Europe, you have those Arab fellows on the Elephants for one, nevermind all of the other races and such. Or the Armor designs for the most part.

As an edit, I have no problem if you don't like this game, hell I'm not sold on it myself, just make up something a bit better, or **** just don't like it cause you don't and need no reason.

I'm seriously wondering if your character's age effects their abilities...it'll be interesting to see. The protagonist is a nobody adventurer but we've seen screens of him/her in full plate armor. That's the armor I'll be wearing but I suppose those that like seeing skin can take the revealing armor and clothing.

I'm saying that at least some parts of Middle Earth are Europe. The Arab looking fellows are actually Easterlings from the east. There are also other darker skinned humans mentioned as existing in other places in the world of LOTR (I've forgot the name).

Don't get me wrong, I think Dragon's Dogma looks quite good actually and after discovering all of these new little details, I'm more excited for it. It looks good and the artstyle has a western feel to it. The armor and weapons (save for the revealing armor) actually look quite realistic and detailed. Some had a LOTR feel to them but maybe that was due to the cloaks.

It would be nice if it did, but I doubt it, I mean like if your legs are screwed up, you look 70 and are hunched over I'll wager you'll run just as fast as anyone else, which is silly. As to Armor I stick with plate myself, but I still think that one guy we seen is some sort of Gladiator.

As to the game like I said I'm not sold on it yet, and they are Easterners, huh funny that, what with the Turbans and all.

Apparently CapCom is considering a PC version:

"Right now, nothing's off the table yet," admits Kobayashi. "But if the PC users out there really are vocal about having this game, then we can definitely consider it."

The character creator looks pretty good. Hopefully just as much effort has gone into the rest of the game.

The official website doesn't seem to have any sort of forum. Maybe CapCom has one?

BTW, the "Official" Dragon's Dogma forum is here:

http://www.capcom-eu...splay.php?f=672

It's not very active. Maybe the Japanese Capcom site has a more active fan base who will voice their concerns over wanting a PC version.

The Japanese use PC's more for work and Consoles for play. So don't count on it.
