@Urzon:  Flemeth tells them more than just an account of the battle.  She deliberately leads Alistair and the Warden to believe that Loghain wanted Cailan dead so he could take the throne.  Just like with Maric, she created a sense of threat and urgency so that she could get what she wanted- ultimately, a Warden baby.

@Esbatty:  I like your version.

I still hold Morrigan is Maric's, imho. And "Warden Baby" has me rollin', A!

lol I too once thought Morrigan was Maric's child. But that would make Morrigan and Alistair doing it really sickening. Posted Image

Wow, talk about a twist of fate - if this actually turns out to be the case, I will be utterly speechless. :o

Hmm... he did kinda want Cailan dead so he could take the throne though.

Loghain thought that Cailan was a threat to the safety of Ferelden by deluding himself with fanciful tales of Grey Wardens and heroic battles, while Anora had to run the country. Not to mention, Loghain saw him getting to close for comfort to the Empress. Loghain might not have wanted to kill Cailan himself, but he sure didn't turn down the the opportunity to see him dead if it meant he could take the mantle of leadership, since he thought he was the only one able to lead Ferelden against the Blight and Orlais again.

Do want!

There's still a chance that we may get to see Fiona at some point, maybe.

Add to that the fact that he had the tower at Ostagar off limits to everyone bar his men who were supposedly sealing up tunnels they found (even though the guard said he witnessed none) and he was dead set against the wardens lighting the signal fire (he wanted the reason to quit the field and leave Cailen to his fate),  it was also his strategy that got Cailen killed

Wait...rumours say he's in an Orlesian prison while on the way to the Free Marches. Tallis is looking for a "gem" called the "Heart of the Many" in Mark of the Assassin. The Heart of the Many (the names even like a clue) is kept in the vault of an Orlesian noble. Ladies and gentlemen, I think we've found us a king.

The only problem with that is Tallis is working for the Qunari, and the Heart might tie into DA: Redemption somehow. I doubt the Qunari care about King Maric at all.  Most likely the rogue Saarebas (the villan that is going to be in DA:R) might be after the Heart to boost his power, or maybe to be used in a ritual or spell of some kind.

Time will only tell.

Has it been confirmed she's working for the Qunari in MotA? I know that the Qunari will have some sort of role in it, but I got the impression that she'd go work for the Qunari at the end of the DLC. If she is working for them in MotA, I agree that they'd have no reason to want Maric.

No, it hasn't been confirmed yet, though it is going to be confusing unless they set a canon date from when she starts working for them.  DA:R is suppose to take place during DA2, but DA2 spans over 10 years. Since we can do the dlc during all the acts like Legacy, that means (depending on how long the job is) it could take place before, during, or after her Qunari job.

Confusing storyline is confusing.Posted Image

It might be sickening, but it's entirely possible. Incest can happen
accidentally, and in the real medieval times it was considered
appropriate for noble and royal families to inbreed. They didn't know
the genetic downsides and they thought it was a way of preserving their
blood.

I refuse to entertain the notion of Flemeth raping the hapless Maric. REFUSE. lalalalalalala

And not getting into a Loghain debate, either. Suffice to say, Flemeth tells people what she thinks they need to hear to manipulate them to do what she wants.

I like the idea (and I use the term 'like' loosely as no one ((but the PC in Dragon Age 3)) should get sexed up by Flemeth... willingly). Yes, I like the idea of Maric being Morrigan's Father over the idea of some randomly raped Templar or some frightened Chasind Man.

I'v always prefered my own theory that Morrigan was just a younger version of Flemeth. She would use one of her special amulets and maybe a ritual of somekind to produce a child verison of herself without her memories, and she would just use her body snatching spell to take over the body later on.

Plus, i enjoy imagining Morrigan's face when she finds this out after you give her Flemeth's real Grimoire. Posted Image

I think that situation is actually alot more inspired by The Arthurian Legend. Alistair being Arthur and Morrigan being Morgana / Morgan w/e

Well, to a point.  Sibling relationships were not okay even then though.  Stigma towards incest that close has been around a long time, usually considered unholy, probably because they noticed the higher rate of birth defects in such relationships.  First cousins, however, where perfectly fine. even considered preferable.

Perhaps somebody is kidnapping Kings at sea. I can see it now:

I think it would be freakin' awesome if this whole thing turns out to be true. It would certainly shake up things up in the storyline quite a bit.

Here's to Maric sitting in an Orlesian dungeon somewhere awaiting rescue.

I would love to see the look on Alistair and Morrigans' face when they find out they are related. It would be great if it happens.

But wait does that make OGS Mordred

It did happen in ancient Eqypt where royal siblings married to keep the bloodline pure.

If and that's a big if Alistair and Morrigan are revealed to be siblings I expect it would be a Mists of Avolon, they had no idea, Arthur/Morgaine situation rather than something Morrigan intentionally set up. Huh just realised the A M thing, coincidence?

IIRC Flemeth said Loghain would betray Merric each time worse than the last and imo that is what happened. It started with withholding information that might have meant Merric spared his lover and ended with him deliberately allowing Merric's son to be killed. Small betrayals which gradually got bigger.

What about Flemeth aging from "Stolen Throne" to Origins? Maric's description of her when they meet makes her seem more like Morrigan. Does the blight cause her to age? There is also the matter of Utha from 'The calling" and "awakening', assuming you sided with Architect. And as a side note: for those who havent read "The calling" you missed out on Duncan being the ultimate badass by riding a dragon as it flies around a cave(after messing everyone else up), while plunging his daggers all along it's back and ultimately the base of its skull. Duncan = Badass!!!
