Really? I thought she looked horrible the first time I saw her....nightscrawl wrote...

I think BIoware needs to balance out the old DA:O style elves and DAII once. The old ones were far too human looking, bearing no actual differentiation aside from slightly pointed ears and being shorter. And, though I do like a lot of the elves in DAII, some go too far extreme on the "look unique" road. My suggestions would be
-Make the ears half way between the old and the new size.
-Meet halfway in the eyeball size, some of them are FAR too big.
-Make the heads proportionate to the bodies. Its a wonder their damn necks dont break by the sheer size of their heads.
-Making them very thin is good, but their arms and legs hardly have any shape, as if they were muscleless. They should still have some curve instead of being boards with sticks for arms and legs.
-I personally like what Bioware is trying to go for in the facial features, making them somewhat cat-like, but again, sometimes its far too extreme. Refine it a bit more and it should be super.
There's my 10 cents. Take it or leave it. I personally think its worth taking
I thought it was unfortunate that the OP used Orana as his example. IMO Athenril is the best looking femElf in the entire game and a testament to the ability of the CC engine.

YES! Please this! lol If they fixed the arms and legs then maybe I wouldn't feel bad romancing them. As it stands now the females look like prepubescent teens.... Which feels wrong...PPR223 wrote...
I don't like the Elves design in DA2, but its the darkspawn that bother me the most. They need to be changed back to the originals in DA3, for definate.
My problems with the Elves are; their eyes are too insect like, their shoulders are too close together, their necks are too long, their ears are too big, and their arms and legs are too thin. If these were changed, then I don't think they would look too bad.

I hope that if we ever see Zevran again that they will fix the mess that was his new face. Zevran was a very handsome character in DAO so it was disappointing that he looked so awful in DA2, that and the fact that his import was bugged

But anyway, I digress. My main problem with the elves in DA2 is when you try to import DAO elves and give them DA2 features - Zevran came out looking absolutely horrible, imo. As for the rest of the elves in DA2, most of them turned out looking beautiful. I loved the look of Fenris, Athenril, and Merrill. In fact, I thought Merrill was one of the few characters that turned out looking better than they did in DAO. So, I don't mind if they keep the new look - just please, please fix Zevran's face.

I wouldn't want them to go back to the DAO look but I'm very much in favor of the the look being toned down a little, and please can all elves get some eyebrows.

I couldn't agree more. I mean, if they can make Fenris attractive, why not Zev? What the futon was with that thing they call his face... the jowls in particular. Ugh, those jowls.

I third this! The elves in DA2 were just too severe (Fenris excluded). And I almost jumped out of my skin when I realized that was "supposed" to be Zevran!!!

I adore that gal. But she looks as elven as....a dwarf might. Pointy ears and all.

DAII all the way here.
I will agree though that the elven necks and limbs are in dire need of fixing as I cannot watch Merrill snuggling with Hawke without cringing.

I normally mock people who make threads for stuff like this, but I'd have loved for her to be a companion

I'd rather have her instead of Wynne AND Leliana.
Yes, I love her character THAT much.

Funny thing is, that guy who is supposedly superior "elven-wise" looks no different from her at that angle as far as human-like features go, save for larger irides.Persephone wrote...

He looks quite a bit different from most other angles, so I fail to see your point.tmp7704 wrote...

No, hardly. It becomes evident his nose bridge is more straight in the profile shots but i'd defnitely not count that as 'most other angles', especially when the conversation closeups rarely utilize those.Atakuma wrote...

Creepy, skinny, pale alien Sketch from DA2. I believe I rest my case. Many times in DA2 especially (which made me laugh and cringe at the same time) people and elves make mention that elves are fairer and more beautiful than humans and are sought after for their looks and company. I really don't see it.....again maybe that's just me.

But I don't understand the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the long neck as seen in the cuddle scene between Hawke and Merrill. I mean, yes, she looks a little bit different. Not to point out the obvious, but as similar as they are, she's an elf and NOT a human. So, yes, she's a bit different. And it's OK for her to be different. My Hawke doesn't mind
