Seriously, what is wrong with Vega? If you hear something on the television that is offensive to you and you don't like it, then you turn it off not react violently and rip it off the wall, destroying it. Does he have any deep psychological issues? Insanity? Emotional instability?

Gee thanks Bioware, or giving us a testosterone fueled gorilla who has the mentality of the Incredible Hulk.
Not to mention even though I hate Batarians, they were somewhat justified in attacking him.
I don't want a guy who is incapable of understanding a powder-keg situation in my team.
I don't want a guy who randomly attacks **** just because he doesn't like it.

Go Vega! A bastion of common sense and maturity

The comic did hint that Vega has deep psychological issues from " the incident on Fehl".

The batarians were in no way justified in attacking him. That wasn't even their TV.

If the Fehl incident did in fact leave some psychological scars and gave him PTSD combined with his already short temper then that is fine. His actions make sense as well as the fact that he didn't tell them to calm down (difuse the powder-keg) and basicaly went, "U mad bro" by changing the topic. I still don't want him on my ship. At least Zaaed was passive-agressive, this guy is RAR! HOW DARE THEY ACCUSE SHEPARD! It's like if Conrad Verner finally grew a pair. The Batarians overreacted too but they are already portrayed as demons but...

1. This is Omega. Everyone is a killer.
2. Batarians ahve a dislike of humans... yet they were playing cards with him. Then he goes an antagonizes them by calling a massacre, "bull****" perhaps even claiming it was a good thing and that ticked them off. It's like (ignorant) Americans just after 9/11 being told they deserved it by a middle eastern.

I really hope that the situation will be different depending on your choice on who should join the council. I don't want Udina to join the council just because bioware says he will join no matter what your choice was.

Udina's the Councilor. They've used him as such in one novel and two mini-comics now.  It's a done deal.  All that remains to be seen is whether they explain how Anderson lost the job and Udina took over for those who chose Anderson.

Udina being the councilor in two badly drawn and badly written mini comics by Darkhorse and a spinoff novel doesn't make it cannon to the story esspecially when that choice can be made by the player in the game that started the franchise...<_<

Unless I'm mistaken, he's councilor in one of the books too.

Comics written by Mac Walters and approved by Casey Hudson. They're canon.  Or did you think they just let Dark Horse do whatever the hell they want and make up any old story they feel like?

Huh, wonder how the crew reacted with Shepard being chained up and jailed. Especially the LI if you have one XD

Personally, I like Vega and look forward to meeting him in ME3.

I wonder where Renegade got enough patience to not trying to kill everyone with that chain. BTW Chains? Really?

Any guesses for who's going to be voicing Vega? My money's on Patrick Warburton.

Isn't it the case though that the games very roughly relate to any established 'canon'. I read that email reply from Drew Karpyshyn as saying that unfortunately for books they have to assume some choices, but that says nothing about how things play out in the game

I suppose we will only know the relationship for certain when we find out if Udina is Councillor in ME3 regardless of your ME1/2 choice, and we might just have to wait for the game to come out to find that out

Heres a funny Dialogue (or at least I think it's funny.) Dialogue between the two Shepard Fanboys.

*shep, squadmate and Vega walk into a bar. Conrad's there, causing trouble as per usual.*
Shepard: Oh god... this guy.
Conrad: Commander! The earth is under attack! You need my help this time!
Vega: *muttering* the hell is this bozo?
Shepard: Conrad - I know the earth is a warzone, but I really really don't have time for this now. I'm sorry, but I have work to do.
Conrad: But I can help! I know how to shove a gun in people's faces!
Shepard: Conrad. I'm going to war, a grim, bloody, violent battlefield and you can't handle it! I'm telling you now, for your own sake. Don't.
Vega: *thinking* Does he even have combat training...?
Conrad: Alright Shepard. I won't try anything reckless. But I'm still gonna support you! Even if the news says you're a terrorist.
Shepard: Thanks Conrad.
*vega watches conrad like a hawk as he leaves. Shepard off with other teammate (Ash in this case).*
Ash: That guy again? He's a real fanboy. Glad to see you managed to take him down, skipper.
Shepard: *Shrugs* I was tempted, but the position of marine fanboy is already taken. *gestures to Vega* lol

This post can be summed up as "I don't like it, therefore it's not canon"

I just don't really want a mindless brute on my team. Grunt is like a son to my shepard so it's fine, but Vega just looks like the kind of person I would laugh at in real life. For being an idiot.

Also, the comic looks like something written for 5 year olds. Do adults really read that kind of stuff? I mean I get that some comics are more advanced and stuff, but that? I thought ME was an M/15+ rated game.

Perhaps Vega got screwed up by the Alliance like Shepard did and that annoyed him to rip off the TV. Really, anyone here loves Alliance? The way they act would make me get lost in some god forgotten middle of nowhere area just to get away from them.
In ME1 Hackett kept sending you on random mission and after completing them there was no mention of Shepard, but the Alliance did this, Alliance did that. And in ME2 Shepard was the perfect scapegoat for the Alliance to use. I don't buy that personal favor thing.
So, James might have gotten the blame for something and the Alliance got away with it. And the Alliance are like a second Cerberus with all the mess they're doing.
And I'm sure Shepard left everyone on the Normandy somewhere and turned him/herself in. Everyone besides Joker.

I was waiting for Sargent Whiskers to appear. >.<

Anyway, interesting intro to the character. Time will tell if Vega will polish up nicely or turn to coal.

^Sgt. Whiskers died on Fehl.

That's why James got PTSD and got dishonorably discharge from Alliance.

Say what you will about the lineart, but the colouring is awe-some.

EDIT:
Speaking of "whiskers", Vega's sideburns are pretty nice.
