Who is this Vega guy? Was he mentioned in previous games?

Vega doesn't seem like a BW character to me. Mordin, Legion, and Kasumi are characters I would consider "BW" characters because they aren't cliche.

Here we have another slab of meat who had something terrible happen to him, and is now all pissy because he can't let go (and will likely ask Psychologist Shepard for help while Reapers destroy the planet). Like Zaeed, except slightly less badass, who replaces a fake eyeball with a Soap MacTavish haircut. Will likely be another suicidal human, just like Ashley, Kaidan, and Jacob who put up their hand the moment someone mentions "suicide mission".

I would rather see Shepard pick Vega up by his collar with his shackled hands and tell him to straighten up and act like a soldier guarding a prisoner.

:pinched: A strange reaction to the news, that's for sure. I hope there is a reason for it.

I figured the BSN would welcome Vega now as a kindred spirit, what with his extreme overreactions to small things.

I still hold out hope for Vega...

Remember all the Jack hate on the old forums? Well Jack turned out differently than expected :)

I was sorta hoping Vega would be biotic, but oh well

why do these comics make it seem that shepard went with the renagade choices is it cannon or just comics version of a shepard

I know, now all these Renegade fools can stop whining about how they get punished, when two HUGE choices--collector base and human Councilor--are decreed as Renegade, because BW said so.

They can never stop, because their butthurt is a war... and war.... war never changes

So here's my big question: If ME3 supposedly starts with the trial, which is fine I'm curious: How does the Alliance have control of the SR2 before Shepard goes and turns himself in?

For a moment, let's pretend that this isn't going to be some sort of tiny plothole we're supposed to overlook. In Arrival, Hackett mentioned coming to Earth on Shepard's terms and turning himself in. So from this comic I'm assuming that Shepard just....didn't go to Earth right away an stopped off at the Citadel to talk to Anderson. This would make sense. I mean he trusts the guy, he's his mentor, etc. etc. From THERE I can guess the comic has Anderson and a bunch of Alliance soldiers taking over the Normandy? Then they go all the way to Omega just to pick up some dude to "guard" Shepard? THEN they zip back to Earth for the trial?

I'm sure "all will be revealed" and everything, but I've been pretty skeptical of the continuity and lack of plotholes and convenient devices for Mass Effect as of late so I just want to get this out there before the game TOTALLY DOESN'T MAKE SENSE in regards to this James Vega comic.

Or maybe it will. Maybe I'm just being too presumptuous.

I mean it just seems like this comic was made and I have a lot of questions that I'm wondering if Mac Walters even considered people would have.

(you know, totally unimportant questions like "where the hell did Mordin get that collector bug?"....)

Hi Badpie! *waves*

How did the SA get the SR2? Maybe Hackett or Anderson send Shep a message beforehand? Willing he/she allows the take over... and renegade is having the ship taken by force?

I'm actually thinking the Alliance did a "breach-and-clear" on the Normandy. They boarded, rounded everyone up, and took it over. It makes the most sense. Why else would they be flying it with Cerberus colors still? The only conclusion is that it was just taken over. If Shepard turned herself in, it's unlikely she would do so on the ship/at Omega...

Also, Vega=Soap??? If we're gonna have to live with a CoD character, at least make it Price...(seriously...he looks too much like Soap. Heck, I thought that when his first concepts got released...)

You know trials don't start the day after someone's in custody, right? Shepard likely turned him or her self in, and this comic takes place within the weeks, or possibly months, between then and the trial.

so if you follow the good path in mass effect 2 and arrival you promise to give yourself up so I am guessing you are going to fly to earth so and do this so how would you need vega as a guard

on the trail you can bet you have been on earth a while before the game starts I can see the start being you asked your side and once you mention reapers them saying they dont exist and than the reapers show up

*In brig on earth. Vega is pacing, deep in thought about Fehl. Shepard lying down on the cell's bed.*

Shepard: *blunt* Stop it.
Vega: *startled but not by much* Stop what?
Shepard: The whole suffering routine. It's an old boring rubbish and every marine I know has been there and done that at some point. Myself included.
Vega: *turns to Shepard, calm still but a little forceful* The hell would you know?
Shepard: *sits up, shrugs casually* I don't know anything about yours, but I'm not blind. I know the signs of PTSD when I see them. As I said, I lived through it.
Vega: *folds arms* You gonna tell me to 'get over it', too?
Shepard: No - I'm gonna tell you that you're a godd*mned moron for beat yourself up!
Vega: The hell would you know?
Shepard: I know the best way to move on is to not let your past ride you! You made mistakes? You screwed up a mission? So what - learn what you did wrong and vow to do better. Don't dwell on one mistake, no matter how big you think it is... *lying back down on the bed.* You're supposed to be a marine, Lietaunant Vega. Straighten up your act and find better things to agonize over.
Vega: You sound like a bloody shrink.
Shepard: Trust me. I've had a LOT of practice... -.-

I'm 100% with AJK on this one. Anderson most likely had a squad of his own and infiltrated the Normandy breach-and-clear style. It's the only surefire way to capture Shepard before it's too late.

From SFX interviewing Casey:

SFX: Is there anything you can tell us about the new character we’re going to see?

Hudson: The story of Mass Effect 3 is a lot more authentic to a war story. So people are wrong to think, “Who are the permanent squad members?” Permanent friends in a war story betrays the concept! So we will be adding people and taking people away. All your friends from previous Mass Effect games will be there somewhere– if they’re alive! And James Vega is one of the new guys you pick up with you as you’re escaping from Earth. He’s interesting because we haven’t had somebody like this before – he is not as worldly as some of the other characters we’ve met. He’s an Alliance Marine, maybe like a younger version of Shepard.

You mean some Alliance squad get into the stealth ship in Terminus System with very possible full crew and one of the most elite squad in galaxy and just like that captured Shepard with no casualties from both sides?

On the topic of comics, who made those well-drawn comics with the blonde femshep? Those were funny.
