If he'd look more like in this comic and less like a pig, I'd be happy.

I really hope that the situation will be different depending on your choice on who should join the council. I don't want Udina to join the council just because bioware says he will join no matter what your choice was.

Udina's the Councilor. They've used him as such in one novel and two mini-comics now.  It's a done deal.  All that remains to be seen is whether they explain how Anderson lost the job and Udina took over for those who chose Anderson.

Hey @Iohanna :)

As far as it being for show, they have Shep in chains mighty early for show. They're still on Omega. I mean, maybe the Alliance has turned on Shepard. It looks bad. What Shepard did looks really bad.

I don't think this is going to be a wink, wink, nudge, nudge cake walk for Shep. Although, with Anderson....perhaps it is show for the Alliance guards that are there....oor...arrgghh1

This thing opens up more questions than it answers.

But basically, it's prelude type thing. So, we meet Vega I think on earth. Because that's where ME3 is supposed to open. This just gives some back story on Vega and how he got there, and his....issues.

I think Shep is in chains on earth. someone pointed out that maybe Vega is the only guy Anderson could trust to guard Shep because others might kill Shepard. (Or, Anderson thinks Shep has some Cerberus operatives inside that would free her...) Ugh.

There may be some kind of Alliance regs that a prisoner as tough as Shep needs to be in chains while in the brig, but I suspect it has more to do w/ comic book iconography than anything else.  The chains and N7 logo are there only to denote that it is Shepard and he/she has been arrested.  It’s a visual cue to underscore what we are being told, nothing more.

Well... running from the Citadel, not telling anyone what's going on, taking part in an unauthorized military operation, and then crash landing first on Omega and then on the biotic academy station... and all that FOR A GIRL, sounds like enough materiall for stripping anyone from such a position.

At last, info on James Vega. I was never interested in him at all, but this changes things. Now I have another reason to look forward to March 6. Damn it, can't wait!

I noticied, but the information was so minor that it wasn't even worth mentioning in the first place; Vega's possible PTSD would have been a much better topic than his fighting of the nameless batarians.

Your complaint was that we didn't learn anything about him other than "the fact that he is a walking slab of meat".  Well, we did, regardless of whether or not it was as in-depth as you'd have liked.

Perhaps.

There's no "perhaps" about it. It's plain fact that he's exhibiting behaviors not uncommon to untreated PTSD and that it's connected to an incident on Fehl while he was serving in the Alliance.

Yeah, problem with that is that he wasn't Councilor when he did all that.  He starts the book as an Admiral, and Udina's already Councilor.

This comic is essentially something that could have been covered in two sentences in the first five minutes of Mass Effect 3 but whatever. I suppose it's...interesting? to see a small glimpse into Vega. The problem is I just don't care yet about him. At all. I haven't met him, heard him, seen him. Well I guess it's not a problem really. Just kind of wondering in general "why bother?" with this.

I guess we're supposed to think he's a brilliant soldier who got all emo after something went bad? Now he has anger issues and don't forget he's big and strong? Okay. Got it. I think I'm up to speed on James Vega for now. haha

That answer was my grudging acknowledgement that I was wrong; I didn't intend for it to sound snarky if thats how it came across.

Like Sten from DA. :P

Yes, that's stated in the book, however the fact that he's Udina's assistant is also stated, meaning the book follows one of the two alternative choices, I never seen a BioWare person say that the book sets canon, the policy always was "canon is what you did".

With this in mind, if you choose Anderson as a councilor - he most likely would be stripped of that status for what he did in the book, if you choose Udina for councilor - he did what he did and he had no status to be stripped off.

Both ways - he's no longer a councilor and nobody can complain that his choice did not matter.

I never knew the Normandy 2 had a cell. Funny, since I should know such things.

Also Didymos, all things mentioned in my previous point are valid unless BioWare decided to **** up their whole policy of player choice importance and say that the book indeed - set the canon to Udina being choosen.

Not surprising considering you couldn't unlock entire areas of the ship until a certain squad mate was recruited.

I believe he quits his Council job in Retribution.

Miranda once mentioned about placing Jack in the holding cells once you get her out of Purgatory in ME2.

I think Anderson stepped in to "arrest" Shepard himself because he got wind that Cerberus could make an attempt on Shepard's life. Also, one word from Anderson, and Vega frees Shepard. Smooth move by Anderson.
