Unpreventable deaths have to be extremely well developed and make actual sense rather than be extraneous, so I'd rather see no one die.

Deaths must resonate with the player. This is one reason why famous landmarks are always the first to go, people attribute values to them and seeing the Statue of Liberty destoryed or Big Ben is intended to make people stop and think "oh ****!".

Deaths that are lazily tacked on, or done purely because there's a percieved need for tradgedy (Anderson and team mates would fit in this category imo) is just poor story-telling. Romeo and Juliette was a tragedy, not because they died, but because they loved and because of who they were that meant death.

I actually think Samara might die. I think she'll pull a 'my time has come, I'm like almost 1,000 so...'

I expect that most of the characters' fates will depend on your decisions, such is always the nature of Mass Effect. But I do think that there is no redemption for the Illusive Man, maybe he'll turn good at the last moment, but he's definitely going to die. Anderson might die or that could be a choice as well, hard to say until we play the game really. But I think Illusive Man is the only one who's dead for sure.

I have bad feelings that Spacer Shepard's Mom might get killed for dramatic purposes. :C

Well Mordin and Thane died at the Collector Base for me. TIM I would rather have on my side in the end, even if I hate him and don't agree with most of his ideas. Anderson I'm thinking will probably die. Not sure about Zaeed. I would think that Conrad would save Shepard and give his life than Joker. I keep thinking my Shep will die in the end, but we'll have to see what happens. The one thing that I think will happen is I'm forced into a situation where I have to kill one of my squadmates because they don't agree with my choice and want to stop me.

As much as it hurts to say, I think something bad might happen to the ME1 squaddies (if they didn;t die on Virmire, or the Suicide mission) or maybe Anderson or Joker. Maybe James Vega might be a temp. squadmate and die near the beginning, like Jenkins or Wilson, but I doubt it :P

I expect everyone to be able to die but if it's just a random death just because Bioware think we need it without a damn good reason or story behind it i will not be amused. If it's a really unique and meaningful death then i will approve.

Bioware gave James Vega an alt apperance he'll be a full squadmate

Unavoidables?

- Mordin defending "krogan princess" as a redemption of upgrading genophage. He's regretting about salarians "uplifting" krogans too much, it gets suspicious.

- Samara deliberately protecting Shepard (I think renegade included - "preserve the only hope of galaxy"). I have a bad feeling about "when I'll die, it won't be in bed".

- Thane. You already knew I'm going to die, si'ha.

- Legion in something quarians - related. Another heroic sacrifice. Maybe together with Qwib Qwib.

- Anderson. Staying on besieged Earth is a bad idea. To tell the truth, indoctrinated!Anderson.

- Bailey.

- Wreav and his clan (as a consequence of killing the only person who might organise krogans. If Wrex is at charge, they survive).

in me2 jack was prob my least used character but when she died in the suicide mishion i was depressed and wished i could have saved her. in other words, no one should have to die.
