I like it because it's a fixed protagonist, and I like him. Had it been an awkward middle character like Shepard or Hawke, I would not have enjoyed it as much as I did.

I understand not wanting to play it, no one is forcing you to. But as a fan of the game, I feel I should clarify certain misconceptions.

There are other things more worthy of discussing than a random compliment of a woman's ass.
For instance some deem the scene with Dethmold and one with Philippa to be homophobic. I strongly disagree, but it would be a more intelligent discussion than what we are having now. 

Are there any sort of character mods to at least change gender? I mean, I could at least put up with it then, and wouldn't need to outright change personality, which could be interesting... of course, that'd probably screw with the plot some. Damn it, whoever made this thing.

Witcher games are like Quentin Tarantino movies when it comes to characters, and like classical novels for their plot. Mass Effect, at its best, is like Riddley Scott. It's two different approaches. My criticism is with Bioware playing it safe when it comes to mature content.

Yes it is. But it is not an essential part of DEPICTING a mature romance. Nor is nudity a reliable indicator that you are watching a mature depiction of romance. One can nudity without maturity, as in the Witcher 2, maturity without nudity, as in Battlestar Galactica, or nudity with maturity, as in True Blood or Spartacus. But one should not assume that just because something is semi-graphic that it's "mature", if anything it's usually an indicator that it is NOT mature. Showing sex should have more of a purpose than some tenuous idea of "immersion", it should have a story reason, and it should only last long enough to tell the story it needs to tell. When it goes on and on and ON like in the Witcher 2, it's pretty clear that somebody just likes looking at Triss' ridiculous boobies. That's not maturity, folks.

That one is a tough one... mostly because the contexts may not match up properly. Once an opinion or two items are not properly contextually analized the comparison may not be that obvious for everyone.

I don't know what to tell you, sorry the game does not cater to your priorities (which are fine btw, just that this particular comment is a bit weird) and I know of no such mod. I know of mods that turn Geralt into a pretty boy, that I hate with a passion.

I'll be honest; I've never played the Witcher. I plan to once my funds start to replenish and I have some cash to spare. But from what I've seen...

The Witcher's sex scenes seem to be more about the raw passion rather then Mass Effect's intimacy of one of the characters opening themselves completely to Shepard. No doubt that ME's could be...improved so that it doesn't seem like a cop out in terms of animations.

I think I wouldn't mind 'The Witcher' so much if the romance and sex wasn't forced (i.e., if I could completely avoid all of these sex scenes/romance stuffs as I don't particularly care for its brand of sex/romance).  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that not all sex is avoidable and the Triss romance is forced on you in TW2.

It is, but I think the issue is whether a game has to show it or not in order for the game's romances to be considered 'mature'.

And yes, it would change. Drastically. I wouldn't be grossed out, for one thing (which isn't a value judgment, but I find it difficult to stomach playing a sexually active male character, especially with this much being shown).

Madame Margot, the head of the brothel ends up aiding the Scoia'Tael, potentially committing suicide out of despair and in her notes she said she did that because the men of her city behaved like rabid inhuman dogs that would mistreat her and her girls and treat them like animals. She sided against her race, with mass mudering terrorists, because she couldn't take being abused like that.

That is infinitely more powerful than having Geralt compliment Roche's ass, to please some people.

It is not ****ed up because has fixed protaganist, thats just your own personall issues ****ing up your chance of playing a great game. It's not a bad game because it's fixed male lead role, it's just a preference of the original writer. Just like how Harry Potter is a boy not a girl or Frodo is a male not female etc. He is also not "unlikable" because you haven't played as him and choices are your own in game he is who you choose him to be through your choices.

Not accurate. In TW1, all of the sex encounters are optional.

In TW2, the only thing forced is Geralt waking up next to Triss at the very beginning, naked. But other than that, nothing is forced, and when asked by others and Triss, Geralt can say that he doesn't love her. He can even elect not to save her if he wants.

what you said jreezy is how I feel.... and yes the nudity in Witcher 2 just keeps comming and comming and comming.... I saw that the OPs links had a whole slew of sex scenes to show.... so basically the main character is the biggest womanizing pig ever... more importantly though I would like to point out that the person decided to play the character that way.... the game never forced him to be a woman objectifying pig

I think Tarantino makes good movies. The reason for my assesment is The Witcher is in-your-face and unapologetic about it. It frequently rattles you with harsh/modern dialog and breaks down the fourth wall. It's a welcome change in a genre that is saturated with Tolkein.

Ok, now I know to stop trying to reason. I am sorry, but it's evident that you are very biased towards the game and do not hold an actual rational reason for it (at least based on what I see here). It's fine to be grossed out by it, but what you are doing is not rational.

Having taken part in this thread for long time myself, seems to me half or more of the people with venom against TW2 haven't even played it and are making assumptions. I have also given up trying to reason with people who don't actually know what they are arguing about from a game they haven't played so I feel your pain.

If it was automatic? I'd find that immersion-breaking and annoying, but if the rest of the game was good enough, I might have an easier time with it.

Of course, I won't deny possessing a certain visceral hatred for Witcher because it got dragged out time and again and again and again and again and AGAIN in negative DA2 comparisons, here and in too many other places. But honestly, most of the reason as to why I don't want to play it is because I can't see myself fitting in with the character well, and being genuinely upset that they allowed for no personal customization other than plot decisions. I do feel that this is a weakness.
