I don't understand why people think the Witcher scenes are somehow ''better''. I didn't like the game at all nor did the scenes impress. Oh well, whatever floats your boat.

i knew you would see eye to eye on this with me Melrache... Image IPB

Oh look it's this thread again.  -_- The Witcher's "romances" are garbage. Nothing but fanservice for a bunch of adolescent boys wanting to see digitilized bewbs.

Umm the homosexual romances in Dragon Age and Mass Effect is fanservice also. I fail to see your point.

Okay, technically all romances could be considered fanservice for that matter. But at least it's well written fanservice and not just digital pseudo-porn.

Implying heterosexuals weren't always accommodated?

Heterosexuality is the norm of most culture, so I'm sure it would be presented as such in  media.

The thing is if they are already accomodating heterosexuals in one way and in some cases it doesn't take that much effort to also accomodate homosexuals.  BW romances are one such example of that.  It doesn't take all that much to tweak one version of the romance to fit the other gender (change pronouns and what not).

Also, it's not necessarily about accomodating a specific group of people as plenty of heterosexuals like to play homosexual romances.

Granted though, most of those heterosexuals are men who are playing as a female PC romancing other females. But still, true enough.

Um no, I'm a boy and I always play as a man who romances women.

I know...shocker!

The post was in regards to heterosexuals that do play s/s romances and not directed at those that don't....like you, apparently.

No No NO NO NO NO. You THOUGHT they were straight. You were WRONG. GET. OVER. IT.

They were straight, now they go both ways because of the endless whining and insults.

Still, they should've just implemented the ability to switch certain romances on or off in the options menu.

Dont get me started... I may be sensetive for a guy but I am also an adrenalline and testosterone junkie to a degree... I would love to be taken on a Massai "comming of age ritual" to prove my manhood to the tribe. Killing a Lion with only a spear. Now those guys are men.

I also read that young Native American boys would test their manhood by running up to a bear and slapping it in the face.

Incredible.

psssssst! you might want to do a little research on the Sambia tribe.. they have some...unique cultural....ways

I may be a heterosexual man, but that small, small gay place in my heart is for Garrus!

...but the rest of my romances will be lesbo

Of course. With Garrus, you can be nervous but never uncomfortable.

No.

You *thought* they were straight.

You were wrong.

You made an assumption and it was proven false. It happens. I assume someone will stop driving if they see me crossing the street infront of them. That will not always be the case.

And if I hear about how Anders was "obviously straight" one more time. :pinched:

Yes, they could be concealing it, but I just hope they don't act like everything is "normal" when a S/S romance is initiated. I don't need Garrus just flirting with me out of nowhere. It should be built up to, not that I'll ever do a S/S romance anyway.

No one gay straight whatever should be hitting on Shepard without Shep initating it first. That's why crap like Ashley and Kaidan stalkin my Sheps came from. F that noise. Player initated romances across the board. Gay straight whatever.

You're both right to an extent. Yes, it's true that just because you never saw someone express interest in the same sex before it doesn't mean they don't swing that way. I know plenty of bi people that don't go around introducing themselves as bi. But, yes I can't deny DA2's "Everyone is bi!" approach was just so rabid fanboys/girls would get off of Bioware's @ss about not including the s/s romance they wanted in the game.

Still, they should've just implemented the ability to switch certain romances on or off in the options menu.

Or you can just...... not flirt with people you don't want to be in a romance with?

Of course, you can come up with a story as to why they are now bisexual, but deep down you know it was because of the complaints.

That really doesn't affect the story though. There are reasons why they could change...

Or it could be because the devs decided not to be afraid of "OMG gays!!!11" frat boys not buying the game or coming on the forums and throwing hissy fits.

True.
I liked DA2. Heck I'll take DA2's everyone's bi (and I CAN TALK TO SOMEONE WITHOUT HAVING TO BONE THEM!) over ME2's "Oh thanks for doing my loyalty mission but if you don't wanna f*** you can leave."

Taking off clothes with magic? How long did it take the devs to think that one up?
And why have sex in a pool? Not the time for shrinkage.
Doesn't seem like romance to me. Romance is done bent over a coffee table!

As if I'd expect anything but ninjamancing in my Mass Effect.

Also, Anders still hit on Hawke in DA2, without any initiating on the player's part.

After the player decided to act like him beinga human abomination and nearly getting him killed was no big deal.

Pick the snarky or aggressive options? No flirting.

The Witcher 2 is a fantastic RPG.

This is not because it includes sex and nudity.

You mean like Miranda in ME2?

That pissed me off so much. I'm already in a relationship but you're stroking my body just because I helped you save your sister...<_<

Well actually, that does add depth to Miranda's character, but they could've made it better by giving Shep a choice of how to react. I wanted to stay loyal to Liara but my Shep was smiling.

I wonder how 'one-time flirting that doesn't have to be reciprocated' = 'being in a romance'.
