I love how when people talk about "dry humping" they make it sound like its a sin against humanity. Sorry but good romance still involves foreplay... "dry humping" may be a part of foreplay for some people. Romantic sex in my eyes =/= "lets have a quickie".

But in DA:O, dry humping wan't just the foreplay, it was the whole thing.

And you wonder why I didnt play DA.... lolz

Luckily that is only about 90 seconds out of a 50 hour game.  Otherwise it would be totally unplayable. Good thing everything else about the game is good.

PFFT dry humping with a guy is a quickie

Hey now! Image IPB What are you getting at? Honestly my main argument is above that comment... anything else is me just being a semi-troll... I hate being serious ALL the time.

I would like to see "romance" throughout the game in ME3.

Using a Shepard that is with Ashley as an example ... you two have already been together physically so these two should not be working up to the "been there, done that". I would like to see THROUGHOUT the game, a brush of the cheek, slap on the behind, playful teasing, romp like the Jack quickie sex, etc. I want that renegade interrupt of grabbing Ashley and kissing her or a paragon interrupt of holding her tight. And sex presented like ME1 thank you!

More romance in the game if you have a love interest and a feeling of connection. Image IPB

I have other issues with playing DA... its just that I never thought it would measure up to my high expectations of a Fantasy Medieval RPG. I heard great things about it from friends... just didnt want to dissapoint my self.

They don't have to show the sex, but lets face it, players expect a reward if you have romances. Kinda like in real life. They should at least show some skin.

Of course, this is where all the Mary Poppins' on this site tell me to look up porn..

Yeah, one game cutscene that lasts like what? 10 seconds? maybe 20? totally defines the quality of an romancestoryarc in a game. -.- Get real guys. As far as artistic quality goes, I think the Witcher 2 Sex scenes are way better done, for numerous reasons, one of the is indeed the nudity.

But that doesnt say anything about the quality of a romance. (which was quite poor in Witcher 2).

For me one of the best romances in a game still are the Baldurs Gate 2 romances. Even if it is just text, music and one or two VO sentences. These romances were greatly written, and most importantly not predictably triggered by "next chapter", "follow the quest" or "buy a gift". That >>> naked pixels.

The thing that bugs me about Witcher 2 is not because of nekkid women. It's the lack of nekkid men. Where are the man bits? It's not there because straight men dislike nekkid men. Gay men and the straight females will not get to see dem sexy man bits.

This whole thread shows the desire to only see the female characters of Mass Effect completely nekkid. Yet of course, no desire to see any of the guys.

If they are going to make the womenz nekkids, I better get to see all the guys nekkid, especially if Garrus really has a claw hammer for a penis.

Seeing a woman nude is more acceptable than seeing a male nude.  Every movie or show that features a nude female has at some point revealed the immaturity of males to deal with the naked female form thereby giving female nudity a certain respect above male nudity.  When it's done for comedic effect it's drilled in that it's done for comedic effect.  When it's a sad state of affairs she's protrayed in a way that she wasn't the victim and that's usually hard to do.

Conversely, every movie or show has put it deep in our minds that male nudity is a joke unless it's presented in an art class or due to a sad state of affairs that he didn't bring on himself.  Other than that male nudity is a joke, always.

2) Most of us are adults yes... but kids play this too.

This is the problem, i think.

CDPR has one mentality "We are making games, FOR ADULTS, let's treat them like one", it is not CDPR's problem if Kids play their game, they should not be playing the game anyway, there is rating for that afterall, if anything, it's the parents fault.

But BioWare is always thinking "ok, kids play this, so..." when they don't realize that they are limiting themselves.
They make gamers for Adults, but they always think about kids, when they shouldn't, because they are not making their games for them.

I've always assumed this is a financial decision on their part. CDPR probably makes less money by creating games made exclusively for adults. Bioware took a risk with ME1 but it seems those days are over.

Dunno about the movies you watch, but I am quite sure that the male body got quite a bit of an increase of attention in the late movies. Think Wolverine in that prequel movie. Hes more barechested than with a shirt.
Or the amazing body of Chris Evans got featured quite heavily in Captain America.

And maybe I am just stupid, but even Downey Jr. worked on his Ironman suite in a sweaty wifebeater most of the time... Just saying.

Maybe its not the display, but the way people perceive these things that put it in a bit of a wrong light. Same thing as it is with a woman that sleeps around is called a **** and a guy who sleeps around get complimented on.

If a female body is shown half naked the fuss about it is big. If a male shows his body noone really pays the same kind of attention.

maybe, but TW2 and ME1 are equals, in the fact that they can be easily bought by kids, or downloaded by kids for that matter, the difference is that CDPR isn't thinking about that, BW is.

Also, in the Exiled Prince DLC, there was a small scene of a guy getting a ******, and no one has ****ed about it.
Maybe people have finally realised how stupid the ME1 fiasco was?

I think they mean that the dude's "Cash and Prizes" were not shown in those movies. Get my meaning there? What guys tend to forget is that when women admire a man... they do tend to take in the "whole" man rather than just the naughty bits. Men tend to focus on two things for the most part. Thats why we are always caught oggling or not looking directly into her eyes when we are talking LOLz.

I am talking trends here... I dont mean that women can go without seeing the bananna and grapes, and that men only see T & A.

This is pointless. We don't need porn in video games. If I want porn I'll go watch porn. I like romance and I'd like to see the ME1 style of Romance return where the culmination is something sweet like how femshep/liara romance scene played out. No real pornography, something just plain sexy instead.

Eh, the ME-2 romances were fine, I'm not playing Mass Effect just to boink Miranda, I wanna be the galaxy's savior lolll.....

And the reason we'll NEVER get as much male nudity as we do female nudity are these two things: Male actors will never put their junk out there like that while it's not a big deal for a female actor with small breasts or large breasts to bare herself. Also, our world exploits women more than men, period. It's ridiculous but it is wut it is: women are always accessible to others.

I don't care about the sex sceenes, as long as the romance is good.

I'd just be happy with a romance as emotional as, I don't know, "The English Patient"?

Honestly even if you argue your head off now it wont change what they already put in there. Simple.

So you basically agree that the "wrong" is on the end of the viewer? ;D

I am not to sure though, but I dont think you see any nippels, vaginas or other full frontal nudity in Hollywood movies if it isnt for Adults only. Americans are quite frigid in that regard.
Imo display wise there isnt much of a difference between genders. (Well aside the fact that most females play supporting roles in the average Hollywood production and are thus just there to look good)

The main problem here IMO is that this shizz is discussed in the first place. Or rather, needs to be discussed. If a movie/game takes its characters just serious and doesnt focus on shallow things like nakedness this kind of discussion wont be neccacery. Or did anyone of you complain that Marion Cotillard wasnt naked in Inception? Think about it. That movie was as mature as it can get, all without nudity and the romance in it was still very important. Same with Nolans Batmanmovies.

Ugh. Witcher 2. Most disapointing game this year. As many others have said, it doesn't have 'mature' themes. It has digital porn in it. If people wanted that they could find it much easier with a google search. There is more to being mature then counting the amount of times you can use the word plough in one minute.

Yonder Poles successfully put boobs in a game.

That does not mean they have mastered Romance.

I mean, there are apparently whole genres of Japanese games that have hella more boobs than that, but I don't think that is what story-based RPG developers should strive to emulate.

Neither is the "romantic" content in the Witcher 2, if it's anything like what is in its predecessor, which I gather it is.
