^ Yes I suppose TW2 does not have "romance" in the sense of lovey dovey hand holding, but you arealready in a relationship with Triss at the begining of TW2, one can chose to play Geralt promiscuously, but again it is an option. You can go after Triss when she is kidnapped by Letho and the Nilfgardians, potentially pitching the Northern Kingdoms into even more turmoil if you really want to. The equivalent of being a soppy romantic in the world of The Witcher.

That they are in bed after "sum luvin'" is not so much the issue, rather being in a relationship with her even if you chose not to in TW1, I agree that could have been handled a little better.

Except you can't. You're still forced to resolve act 2 by collecting all of the artifacts and fighting the big boss, regardless of how much you want Geralt to chase after Triss.

The "relationship" depiction with Triss in TW2 is bad. That cutscene occurs in act 1, and then is never, ever referenced again. Geralt never touches Triss again. They never talk about their relationship. Even after Geralt rescues Triss from the Nilfgardian camp, she's all business. I find it really, really sad when the people who recognize that Geralt and Triss have a relationship are everyone but Geralt and Triss themselves. If I didn't have people telling me they were together, I'd never have known it myself. The extent of their relationship is "Sex in act 1, nothing happens for rest of game". And believe me, I tried. I chose every single Triss-oriented choice that the game offered me, because I *wanted* to see a relationship and I was disappointed for the rest of the game.

Maybe your idea of a relationship is two people doing an awesome job of pretending that there isn't one, but mine isn't.

Your premise is based on the relationship not being shown as a fact, when I disagree. You may never have seen it, I did. I don't need "I love yous" to see it. I don't need constant hand holding and hugging to see it. I don't even need them sitting and discussing their future more than once in a very urgent plot that has a million more important thing happening than their romance.

And what they had, ultimately mattered more to me than the romance in DA2 and ME2.

So no, the relationship not being shown is not a fact.

It's true they never fully develop the romance for Triss, but that's because she's more of a f*ck buddy to Geralt, and it's always her who's trying to get him to settle down, not the other way around. Plus, it's canon. From the very beginning in TW1, Geralt and Triss are an item. finally, there's the fact that we still don't entirely know her motives; many gamers distrust her and feel she's manipulating Geralt, which is entirely possible.

Asari strip dancers perhaps (though they only show up in strip clubs and well... strip clubs should have some stripping, but I get what you mean).

Well, I don't know about you but I'll be seriously butthurt if we don't get Asari strip dancers in ME3.  They have to be some of the most amazing character designs I've seen.

Bioware strikes to me as if trying to avoid some of the mature content, even though the rating on games says otherwise.

The Witcher series tries to be mature, but ends up being rather immature about it.

They're just dancers though there isn't any actual stripping which means they aren't getting any of my hard earned (found in a crate) credits.

 The nug in the pearl...  was humor... not fanservice. (more like an easter egg than anything else)

The asari strippers add authenticity to the enviroments and Jethann is a wh*re in a wh*re house. How shocking!

This is exactly what I meant but I should of reworded it differently. You hit directly right on the nail of what I was trying to say. If players are trying to engange in any romance you might as well give them what they want.

Using a Shepard that is with Ashley as an example ... you two have already been together physically so these two should not be working up to the "been there, done that". I'm a type guy that would fall for the type of Ashley girl she is wild. Miranda is just so damn boring. Romance in a game reminds people that needs to keep that feeling alive making that connection in real life. Yeah ME1 romance with Ashley was the best, in ME2 it was depressing basically it was more become a man**** than anything.

       The romance scene with Shepard and Ashley was deep, and good romance. Then Fox News attacks it but yet TW2 does full romance scene including a naked female, even sex of going so far including doggy style, and Fox News hasn't even attacked that yet.

         Now seems like there is two camps of people regarding their romance "Dry Humping" vs "Full out Romance" I personally like realistic games, and movies. To be honest in ME1 with ashely, now thats romance, in ME2 it was more heh except the part with Miranda.

This game is more directed to Adults, so make it for adults.

You're welcome, its sad your not buying a good RPG game just because of a sex scene. That is why it's called a RPG you can not engage in that, and keep yourself clean the whole time. I don't even have the game but the RPG looks awesome,

Drop the porn nonsense already, its what humans do, and always do. Honestly if the world is coming to an end, being destroyed by reapers. Humanity is about to be extinct really be honest with yourself; you might as well get laid in the process before we all die out. Plus having a sex serves a purpose so we continue to populate even after the reapers destroys us.

Also Bioware can EASILY again...make a CUT or UNCUT version so satisifies both type of customers. I always want the uncut regardless what it is.

Since when has bioware been on a throne when it comes to romance? they haven't had really great romances since baldur's gate, the romances they have now are alright but nothing special

I don't remember using the word fact in my post. Do I need to go back and edit in the words "in my opinion"? Or are you just strawmanning?

It sure didn't make Geralt or Triss more compelling, and that wasn't romance. In my opinion, it was bad VA + a romp in a pool. I'd actually have to care about the characters for it to qualify as being romantic, and I didn't care about them at all. Sure, BW should handle the romance scenes more along the lines of ME1, but I'd still take BW romances (even sans skin) over the soulless crap in The Witcher.

-- it doesn't mean anything either. I assume the scene was added purely to please the audience, maybe even the developers themselves. Perhaps that's not fan service by your definition, but I don't know what else to call it.


Considering my lack of knowledge about the game, however, do correct me if I'm spreading nonsense here.

You can totally tip the dancers in ME2...

The dancers remind me of the kind they have in Vegas at the casinos.  They aren't stripping but they're still there to get you worked up and allured.
