I recently bought Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition from Origin and I had experienced the unauthorised DLC problem but it turned out to be for a different reason.
Firstly I redeemed the bonus DLC code on the website while the game was downloading as instructed after my purchase.
When it finished downloading I ran to game only to notice that all my DLC was unauthorised except for Awakening.
I then starting reading the forums for a fix.
The first thing I tried was a restart but nothing changed, then I read about the updater service and when I searched my computer for it I could not find it installed.
I then ran the DA Update Service Diagnostic Beta and I read the log which said it did not find the updater service installed so it installed it.
I then ran the game again and after a brief moment all my DLC was authorised.

The conclusion I have come to is that when you download the game from origin it does not install the Updater service required to authorise your DLC.
If anyone wants to know I am using Windows 7 64bit.

Help i bought dragon age ultimate edition through steam and i can not authorise the DLC content, it is installed but not authorised !

I noticed that i've had to do it more then once because a few times when I started the game I had the same problem so something was removing the service. CCleaner perhaps but who knows. I've finished DAO now and are onto DA II and ME 3 when it comes out so I have no real reason to look further into this issue.
If it happens to you think about what you have done on your computer since you last played and if you figure it out post it to help everyone else out. That's how a good community works and that's all that I was doing when I posted this originally.
