You mean like these oversexualized, photos of how women dressed in the 17th century??  My how did their clothes stay up?? 

The fact remains, cleavage has been shown by women for years, and the fact also remains Bethany isn't even that much showing after the intial prologue.  If you don't like it, sorry, but you must really hate stepping out your front door, considering what people actually wear now in public......

What if I said "rigid boning?"  And I really have no idea how those stay up, especially the second dress. Maybe it has lacing in the back.

Posting this again, because, no, half her breasts are not exposed.  She has a bit of cleavage, but she's an eighteen year old woman at the beginning of the game.  It's not a crime to make a character who has a bit of vanity.

Seriously, there are times to complain about over sexualizing female companions in video games, and then there's this.

The outfit isn't that far off the mark from what is considered standard medieval/Renaissance fare, such as this. Plenty of exposed flesh there. And while in that example, those ladies aren't out in the middle of battle, I stand on my previous comment regarding Bethany being a mage. She isn't supposed to engage in melee combat, thus her attire isn't supposed to be focused on padding or defense. It's sort of a give that mages aren't armored (at all) because they usually join the fray from a distance.

So the chainmail is for fashion...?

Look, it's just taste.  I'm not advocating a march on Bioware.  I just hate that outfit.  You don't.  It's fine.  If we could change companion outfits, there'd be no issue whatsoever.

Okay, so in the five minute exaggerated portion, yeah, you can see more cleavage.  It's still not half her breasts.

So what, though?  I think it was a funny reference to the outrage over her breast size when the first pics came out of her, to have her with that original model in Varric's opening.  In the rest of the first act, that's not what she looks like.

You did get that Main Character Hawk and their sibling in the prologue were made out to be semi-gods of destruction, by a story teller, Varric in this case embellishing a truth to tell a better tale??  Didn't you??

The poor girl is showing about 6-7 inches of skin from the neck down on her entire body, and you say it is too much..........that is pretty sad in my opinion.  You say the size of her bust isn't this issue, yet you keep posting pics of the exaggerated time to make your point........yet it isn't that time you have an issue with.....

If you had said Issabella, ok, I would give you that, but no you had to pick on Bethany and use bogus pics to make your point....you as others just above me said, you want to start a fight, which is trolling, not true discussion because you have an issue.  If you think Bethany truely is too hot, then you are a prude and should go live in a convent to be happy, becuse 13 year old girls(sadly) are showing more than Bethany does after the prologue.

Bethany isn't even showing much cleavage by Tavern maid standard. Take a walk through a Ren Faire and you'll see far worse.

For a real example of an uncomfortably dressed oversexualized sister, I'd reccomend Two Worlds II. Bethany is a nun in comparison.
