who would I want to be? hmmm.... Not Roxas because his game made me cry manly tears of manliness.... I'd go with Yoshira "Joshua" Kiryu (TWEWY) Why? Because he has the jesus beam attack and is pretty much a god of his own realm and gets to watch the mortals fight desperately for their pathetic lives...

Brilliant, manipulative, and little sense of ethics. I like him.

Epic adventuring across Hyboria, crushing hot wenches, fighting battles and driving my enemies before me and hearing the lamentations of their women....after which I would proceed to crush them...in a good way of course

Probably one of the children of Kimball and Clarissa Kinnison.

Doctor Who, no contest.
Seriously, a superintelligent extraterrestrial who can live pretty much forever, has access to some of the most advanced technology in existence, and can visit any place in the universe at any point in history? Sign me up, please.
Oh, and not to mention all of the lovely ladies he gets to take on as companions. I couldn't think of a better lot in life than what the Doctor has.

But along with all that awesomeness he has a lot of pain too. Not least of which is living forever and seeing everyone he grows attached to age and eventually die while he stays the same.

That's just the way it is, I suppose. No fictional character I could mention is without tragedy in their lives.
I was actually going to post Magneto before the Doctor came up in my mind - that man, despite having incredible powers and superior intelligence, is as tragic a figure as they come.
But hey, you take what you can get, right? Both good and bad.

X-23 from X Men. Badass with claws coming out my hands and feet and can be shot 200 times and walk away without a scratch. Hours of fun

I think the point is that the Doctor's name isn't "Doctor Who," but yessss...greengoron89 wrote...

If I could be a fictional character with the same gender as myself, I'd be the Exile from KotOR II. Heck yes. Oh, or Samus Aran. Oh, or Jack from ME2 since we both swear like sailors conversationally.
And if I could be a fictional character of the opposite sex, I'd be Tyrion Lannister from the A Song of Ice and Fire series. He's only the most badass character, hands down.
