I have Mass effect on Steam on my PC. I haven't played it in like.. a year, and probably a couple windows reinstalls but I'm pretty sure I was originally able to get 1920 x 1080 resolution on it, which is the maximum my monitor can handle.
Interestingly enough, I was having this exact same problem with some other games a few days ago. I was able to fix it by doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of my video drivers. Oddly it didn't help ME. My Video card is a Geforce GTX 275 running the 260.26 drivers.
