Hello all, I bought Mass effect on steam and i downloaded the game but its not working
my specs are Windows 7, 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 6800GT, 2.8 GHz Intel
The problem is once it starts, it says "Opening Mass effect", the window goes away and absolutely nothing happens.
So i went to the files and found the mass effect launcher, so i clicked it up, pressed play and then it closed, i assumed it worked but it didnt, nothing happened afterwards, am i doing something wrong? I've also tried the ever stated open as administrator and that hasnt worked either, ive tried everything and i dont know what to do. Any help woiuld be appreciated, thanks.

But I had similar problems when I bought ME.
I downloaded the 2 patch's and started it with Admin and it still does the black screen, But give it a min or so and it launch's and plays perfect.

try running the game in compatibility mode, right-click the .exe file - properties - compatibility and check 'run this program in compatibility mode for:' windows XP(service pack 3). Also had a similar problem, this worked for me. Good luck.

2. Very incomplete problem report data set.
3. If that Intel CPU is only a P4 Pentium, it's not adequate to run ME-2 with. The Pentium P4s are too obsolete to do much of anything with, gamewise.

Whoops, sorry i thought this was the right forum i apologise.
And I found out that the solution was to turn the Account access feature off. it started working flawlessly after that.
Also i dont see how thats incomplete. If all that happened was a little black square saying "opening mass effect" then it closes and not even a crash report error happened. I mean literally NOTHING happened, like the computer acted as if nothing had happened. So i don't see how i could have provided more information if there was no information to report. If you could be a little more specific though I'm open ears (or eyes in this case).
