Well of course DA2 is going to be GOTY. I mean, what competition does it even have? The Witcher 2? Hardly. That consolized "streamlined" turd has nothing on DA2. No wonder CDPR is forced to release a massive patch to fix all of the issues with the initial release. Just like with their first game. Will they never learn? DX:HR? Have you heard the horrendous voice acting in that game? Not to mention the complete lack of a character creator and the lack of real choice and consequences. And don't get me started on Skyrim. It isn't out yet, but if it is anything like every other Bethesda game ever, it will be an unplayable, buggy mess long into 2012. Nope, the good folks at Bioware have GOTY well in hand.

Actually it was the same team bar 1 or 2 members DAO won many awards because while it wasnt all that great either it was better than the other trash that was out at the time so reviewers and gaming public alike lapped it up like a cat to double cream.

you could say the same the thing about pretty much every BioWare game,With the Exeption of NeverWinter Nights(Coincidentally, a game that also got Negative Buss from Fans, though probably not as much), which was still able to get some RPGOTY awards, something DA2 won't be doing

Best Box Art
and possibly Best loading times

it won't win anything else:

Best Story? Nope

Best Writing and Dialogue? Nuh-uh

As much as I like Deus Ex, only Adam Jensen and other important NPC's had good voice acting. Many NPC's had bad voice acting, stupid animations and plastic faces. I WANT TO KILL EVERYONE IN THE DEUS EX WORLD! That's how much I hate the people.

Dragon Age 2 had better voice acting and more memorable quotes. The only thing that stands out from Deus Ex is Adam Jensen's "I didn't ask for this" statement and that was only made famous by fans. Hell, Tracer Tong from this mod for Deus Ex is more memorable than many of the characters from HR:

I liked Dragon Age 2's combat because it was fun (it lacked the depth of Origins' combat but it was still fun), I liked some of the dialogue, quests and battles with the dragons and I liked the Templars. The only likeable character from HR is Adam Jensen and for God's sake, Rexton Harimann beats him.

Will Dragon Age 2 win GOTY? No. Not for me but there will be people who do vote for it due to the characters that they loved (character discussion threads are still active) and there are those that liked the storyline. Right now, Two Worlds 2 wins GOTY for me (because it's the only other 2011 game that I've played along with DA2 and HR) but I've yet to play Dark Souls and The Lord of The Rings: War in The North which look set to have more replay value than both Dragon Age 2 and Two Worlds 2.

Morrowind was crushed by Arx Fatalis. Oblivion was crushed by Origins and Skyrim will be crushed by Dark Souls. The only reason people like TES games are because of the open worlds that they offer but take them away and you're left with terrible combat, actrocious stories and depthless characters. It's already been stated that Dark Souls is bigger than Skyrim (by those that have played them) and so Skyrim is pretty much destroyed. I've seen both games in action and can clearly say that Dark Souls features the better combat, gameplay and crafting:

Also, Dark Souls looks set to have the more interesting world too. It's varied unlike Skyrim's snow frozen land. Once again, TES fails, it never gets the open world aspect right. Dark Souls will feature snow filled areas and more.

So...in regard to the thread subject, I just discovered a couple of days ago that  Two Worlds 2 has a GOTY edition.  And it's ensconced in velvet. Oooh, velvet. 

Edit: In my original post, I spoke a little out of turn. Apparently GOTY is awarded by several different magazines, but is simply a "this was the best game, in our opinion" award. In the case above, TWII came out in 2010, but yet I don't see that it actually got GOTY from any magazine that counts.

So with that underhanded logic...could DA2 have a GOTY edition? Sure. I guess it remains to be seen.

Dragon Ages 2 will never win anything. It was trashed all the hell and rightfully so for their cheap re-use of maps and waves and paratrooper ninjas every battle.

Thing is, the game was kinda bad, but I think their characters, voice acting and party banter are deserving of notice. I hate that some awesome characters are going to be lost amidst the rest of the games flaws. When I say characters I mean the party members and npcs being awesome. I don't think the main character was very good or very affective in the story.

TLDR-DA2 wasn't very good, but if there was such a category, they should get a few nominations for some good sidekick/supporting cast characters.

I don't think I mentioned Origins or any sort of versus thing at all. Not really sure what your response means in the context of a game of the year, but hey, you are entitled to your opinion.
